Before the series I was on the Green bandwagon and thinking why in the world do we need Booker…now I see why we need Booker. He’s an excellent performer in the playoffs and Jalen looks too confused by the defenses and like he doesn’t even want to be out there at times.

Jalen was 113 DRtg while Booker was 123 DRtg

Booker was horrble on defense this year.

So you are saying those around a player matter.
Which is what I've been saying for years.

Put Jalen Green around 3-point shooters like the Suns have
and watch him slice and dice defenses.

Don't back out now, coaches matter, 3-point shooters matter,
players built like greyhounds matter running up and down the
court while lardos matter pushing their weight around near the basket.

You can't have it both ways. Basketball is a tam sport....if Jalen
Green played singles golf that would be another story.

Suns finished 3rd in the NBA regular season at 3P%

Well when you have 28 points 5 turnovers you still contributed but when you have 8 points and 5 turnovers that led to 10 fast break points you were a negative. Not the same..

All will be forgiven if he has a "hit" in game 6!!

Well, maybe not all, but a large part of it

It'll just confirm what we've known all along, he's highly inconsistent and you can never rely on him as a result.

It's why I really think a 6th man role is better for him. You could expand his playing time when he happens to be hot, and bury him on the bench when he's a complete disaster.

I don't disagree with anything you've said but I have a question to make sure I understand you correctly. Are you suggesting Jalen and Booker would be a good trade because each will be a better fit on their new teams? Because I assume, though I haven't looked at the stats, that Phoenix is a bad defensive team. So putting Booker on the Rockets, a good defensive team, and Jalen on the Suns, a good 3 pt shooting team, is a way of helping each player realize their strengths?

This is the 100% the best way to use him if we keep him.

Desmond Bane shouldn't be included in your list. Bane is a vastly superior player to Jalen Green.

Quickley and McCollum are good comparisons. Quickley is probably similar offensively but better on defense. He has a much better handle. McCollum is a better offensive player and more efficient but significantly worse defensively. I follow the Pelicans as well and CJ's contract is generally considered a negative value here. They re-signed him because he's a high-character guy and a leader. They were hoping he would be a positive influence on Zion and Brandon Ingram.

Overall, your point is valid. I think Jalen can become an equivalent overall player to Quickley and CJ McCollum. Not a star but a good player who can do several important things well enough.

"nitpick" is hilarious lol We won in spite of him is the problem and we've had to win in spite of fred other games. they both need to be shown the door this summer. Im sick of Jalen looking like MJ when it doesnt count or one random game and his stupid fanboys slobbering his weewee like he somehow proved us wrong.

Im saying factors change from situation to situation.

For every action there is a reaction.

Here is the 3P% on the Suns roster:
    Durant 43%.............6 (3PA/gm)
    Beal 39%.................5 (3PA/gm)
    Tyus Jones 41%.....5 (3PA/gm)
    Royce O'Neale 41%..6 (3PA/gm)
    Grayson Allen 43%....5.5 (3PA/gm)
    Josh Okogie 38%......1.7 (3PA/gm)
    Monte Morris 36%....2 (3PA/gm)

Many people seem to think every player has the same set of circumstances
and variables. As if NBA defenders are cones or chairs letting players do whatever
they want. So everyone's #'s are equal to one another.

    According to basketball-reference.com
    % of time at position
    Jalen Green: PG.....SG.....SF...
    ......................27%...71%...1%..

    Booker: PG...SG.....SF.....PF...
    ..............1%...45%..50%...4%

So Jalen Green logged in more time at PG than Booker this season.
    Bad Pass (24/25): JG4 (96).........Booker (127)
    Lost Ball (24/25): JG4 (85)..........Booker (62)

So Booker was bad at passing ; but Jalen dribbling was poorer.
Could Jalen playing more PG and getting blitzed defensively
have forced more "lost ball" (stat).

If you are a defensive coordinator would you blitz Booker, Durant,
or Beal knowing that so many teammates could burn you.

I'm saying the game planning is probably not the same.
It's much harder to double Booker, Beal, Durant on the Suns because
others will make you pay. On the Rockets not so much.

Booker on Suns 119 ORtg and 123 DRtg would probably be
112 ORtg and 115 DRtg while with Houston.

Green on Rockets 110 ORtg and 113 DRtg with this current Suns team
would probably be 121 ORtg with all those 3-point shooters and Greens
speed, versatility and ability to contort in air. Get more calls from refs.
Combination of more layups, dunks and free throws improves Jalens
    confidence to make more 3's.

Now the defense of Jalen would glare it's ugly head more as the Suns apparently
don't stress helping each other well defensively. A Thibs coached team probably
would and Green would still be around 113 DRtg.....but with the Suns, im guessing
close120 DRtg. Suns are about outscoring every team. Not defending.

I just hope Jalen plays well in Friday’s potential elimination game. Probably the most important game the rockets have played in 5 yrs. Not too much to ask.
