idk how you watch game 1 and say our biggest need is at the 5.

WE NEED PLAYMAKING SO BADLY WHY I AM SHOUTING.

Kasparas or Derrick Queen. That's who I want at #9.

I think they're going to trade the pick for a veteran. I really hope not, but if they don't fare well against Golden State I expect them to panic and go for a quick fix like Durant. If they do, this pick is as good as gone.

There's a couple players that'd be a good fit. Cooper, Dylan, VJ, Kon and Kasparas. VJ, Dylan and Kon specifically are plug and play. I do think we're still too young to be worrying about winning and my biggest sour spot this year was the lack of development that Reed and Cam got. Hindsight is 20/20 though.

If we got a talent like Dylan or VJ and they rode the pine next year Id be furious. Im almost at a point where I want to see Reed start next year, wins be damned. I don't want another situation like that. If we got Harper or VJ they better get 20 minutes a night.

If we lose to GS and especially if we get swept, it would absolutely not be a panic trade. I’d even go as far as saying that if they continue going down this route with praying the youth somehow turn into superstars than it would be a massive disservice to themselves.

I am currently on the fence between using the pick and trading it. This is where I am.

If the Rockets survive the 1st round

    OR

Get a Top 3 pick, keep the pick.

If neither of those happen, trade it for a vet who can make a real difference next season.

Surviving the 1st Rnd would mean the young guys have grown even more than expected and will be that much better next year so they can afford to absorb another young up and comer because the core 3 or 4 guys have matured enough to now be the vets.

Y'all think 9th pick is enough to get a guy like Kyrie or Ty Jerome?

    Cooper
    Harper
    Ace
    VJ
    Tre Johnson
    Kon
    Maluach
    Queen
    #9

Likely one of those guys will be there at #9; someone will get bumped down. Queen is the only one that doesn’t really fit what we need but he’ll go top 10. The guys on this list are probably all worth drafting at #9.

Forget which position to draft. Trade Green + Jabari + our FRP + another Suns’ FRP to trade up to #1. A bad team gets an instant rebuild and we move a big step closer to truly contending.

Ok, you make that deal and you're looking at:

    PG - Thompson (#4) / Sheppard (#3)
    SG - Whitmore (#20) / Holiday
    SF - Brooks / FA
    PF - Flagg (#1) / Eason (#17)
    ..C - Sengun (#16) / Adams or Landale

    Eh, could work.

I'd rather have the #1 pick AND keep all our young guys.

    PG - Thompson (#4). / Sheppard (#3)
    SG - Green (#2) / Whitmore (#20)
    SF - Flagg (#1) / Brooks
    PF - Eason (#17) / Smith Jr. (#3)
    ..C - Sengun (#16) / Adams or Landale

Go out the next year and win a Championship with that team and then live in double apron cap hell for 5 more years and just keep winning.

You’d be banking on Cam stepping up and playing a more well-rounded game. Hey, if Jalen can learn to be a decent defender, anyone can.

Then you’d bring in a quality FA or two for rotation duty and injury protection.

And if Sheppard emerges as a starter at PG, Amen takes Brooks’s spot in the lineup.

A backup C/PF is the #1 need even if the team resigns Steven. A PG would be the 2nd biggest need. I'd rather not go into next season relying on Fred and Reed.

    Elite 3 & D player. Age shouldn't matter.

Trade Cam and get a new Cam with no issues to start fresh. High upside scoring wing that can be a spark off the bench. Preferably not short.

I picked BPA, but ultimately, I just want them to add someone with the potential upside to be a go-to scoring threat who can shoot the ball. We all want Green to be that guy, but this series has shown how inconsistent he can be, and I'm still not sold he'll ever get there. Amen and Sengun are incredible, and I love them both, but they're not shooters and aren't likely to suddenly get good beyond the arc. Ideally, you'd want someone who could also defend and do other things well, but when I look at this series, we don't lack for size, rebounding or defense—we lack an elite scorer who can shoot.

I would support dealing the pick to acquire someone like this, but without knowing what the trade is, I'm not inclined to pick that option. Even if this is a pick in the 9-10 range, that's got some really good value in a draft like this. You don't deal that asset unless it's a larger deal to acquire a young-ish star. I don't want an aging Durant. I don't want a borderline All-Star. I want a bonified All-Star 25 PPG-caliber guy. And if they can't get it, you don't move this pick.
