You are right. Ime has been majorly out-coached this series. Kerr owns him. Maybe we will get lucky and our role players shoot lights out and we win, but the odds are very much in GSW’s favor.

 

Draymond is possibly one of the best help defenders of all time. He neutralizes so many drives and unfortunately that is what Jalen is best at, forcing defenses to collapse with his speed.

The counter is Jalen knocking down an occasional floater but this has been his massive deficiency as a player so far in his career. He needs to shoot 10,000 floaters a day this summer. A reliable move in the 10-15ft is what turns him from inconsistent to consistent over night.

how does it look for Alpi, Amen, FVV, Dillon

 

I think Jalen may look up to Curry as a hero, Jalen use to drive hours as a kid to join Curry’s camp in the summers. GS was probably the team Jalen grew up being a fan of as they are the closest team to his hometown. It’s like fighting your master who taught you everything vs some stranger. He’s also friends with Kuminga who was on his G league team before they both entered the NBA. Whatever it is the drop off in scoring when Jalen plays GS is significant and doesn’t appear to be a problem against other team including OKC, Denver, Boston, etc.

My fear is GS’s role players always step up against the Rockets. It could be that they are younger. Kuminga, Podz, Moody, and Santos are all 22 or under and Post is just a Rookie. They all seem to do well against the rockets, G6 could come down to one of them having a career game.

 

He's been outcoached for the majority of his games against Kerr even though he's had the better team more often. With the better team you can even get slightly outcoached and you should be fine. To lose with the Celtics and then to lose vs a missing/gimpy Butler is horrid coaching. It's not a small sample.

I have hope that Ime is learning this lesson finally though. At least demanding a higher pace so far we're not ALWAYS going up against a rested and set halfcourt defense. Look at Amen go go go and keep the Warriors panicked.

I'm also sensing he's seeing what Amen and Jalen need in order to be able to help him more. The team has been using the word spacing a lot in interviews. Fred was way less on ball at least it felt that way to me, he wasn't holding the ball and taking forever to try to generate an assist.

With spacing a few tweaks can go a long way. More Holiday. Less Adams. Higher up Sengun. High pace. More off ball Fred. These things can help swing things. Fingers crossed.
