I agree. FVV needs to go. I wouldn’t mind seeing Jalen for a while with a fast athletic backcourt mate. I wonder where we could find one?
False , FTs would still be missed, Booker would being blitzed and doubled …and you see what happens to Ant and Curry when teams focus that style of defense on them. If Booker couldn’t win with KD and Beal , but now yall think you plug him in and he’s not going to drop the same stinkers he dropped …he’s older and more experience so he may score a few more points just off that.
He would've done with our defense though, and he'd be more solid in the playoffs than Jalen has been.
Who was the Warriors best player with 5 TOs game 1? Guess the next best Warriors player was Bari with 4. I just wish folks would keep this same energy across the lineup - it’s not that hard but apparently it is
If you watched the game last night and thought Jalen was bad or had a bad game just proves you either don't know what your watching or are flat out hating. He didn't score much but he did everything well and was a big part of us jumping out to a big lead. The only time he looked bad was when it was obvious the atarters were gonna get pulled in the 3rd while we led by 30 because he forced 3 terrible shots. Even still he took the least amount of shot attempts out of the starters, and on a night when everyone was hot from the field. Thats the best play Jalen could have done.
Honestly, I thought Jalen played a great game last night. Spaced the floor, didn't force anything for the most part, rebounded well, kept the ball moving. It makes me wonder if Jalen's best role would be as a second/third offensive option who spaces the floor and can occasionally explode, so the defense always has give him attention. Guys like that are incredibly valuable.
Jalen now has 2 major contributions in our 2 wins. He won game 2 with his play, then he banged knees with Curry which limited him to 13 pts on 33% FG. Now both Jimmy and Curry are banged up thanks to Amen and Jalen.
Maybe it is. At the end of the day he is paid like Derrick White so he can def be the 3rd or 4rth option here
I don't know that he played a great game. He played like a good role player which was interesting to see. We're not really paying him next season to be a role player but maybe that could be the best outcome. If Jalen can improves his catch and shoot 3 point percentages and improve his mediocre defense, we might have something there. Jalen as the primary offensive option on second units might create improve his offensive efficiency. I'm still hopeful Jalen can bounce back this season and have another couple of great games and redeem himself. Another efficient 38-point game in game 6 would change my mind a lot about Jalen's future. If he could do that in both game 6 and 7, I might have to re-think some of my previous Jalen conclusions.
I mean, we're not exactly paying him max money, either. He's making similar money to Bane, McCollum, Quickley, Hartenstein, etc. I don't love the term "role player," but those guys do fit the mold of what I mentioned (second/third option guys who can go off).
If this is the standard for a good Jalen Green game, then basically it means the Rockets needs to get a go-to scorer or multiple high-quality floor spacers in the offseason. Because there are only two ways to really make this offense at least above average. One is to have better floor spacing and let Amen/Sengun work in spacier settings, or just have an established scorer who can get buckets consistently. Because Stone has counted on Jalen to be that guy and he's just not.
It all depends on expectations. If he's the Numero Uno, then what he's doing is far below that expectation. If he's just a rotation player on a good team, then yeah you could say he had a good game last night. Same thing with Sengun. If Sengun had the numbers of Adams, he'd be criticized to no end because he's expected to carry the offensive load. But Adams is frequently praised for being a "good" player.
This is false. Booker is surrounded by far inferior talent than Green. And beyond inferior defense. Booker is much more proven and way more consistent than Green. He’s also a much better passer so teams can key on him and he’ll make the right pass instead of a patented Green turnover.
