I’m still in shock with Lebron’s longevity… and now you add prime Luka next to him is honestly crazy.
LeBron will stay with the Lakers, probably until he becomes a part-owner of the Las Vegas expansion franchise.
He's staying with the Lakers, but I don't see him and Doncic working well together and making the Lakers a real contender unless he opts out and takes the veteran minimum or something similar.
I'm amazed people still think LeBron is trying to win a championship. It's pretty obvious he's been wanting to extend his all-time leading scorer stats as far as he can, for the past couple of seasons now with nothing else on his mind.
He definitely made the Dallas Trade look quite as egregious as originally thought He looked out of shape and tired and sloppy and lazy This is the 1st time I can say that about him though Maybe his mind and heart just wasn't in it Otherwise. . . he might be going the ZION way of things Rocket River
The trade was egregious not because they traded Luka. It's because what they got back was laughable for a player like Luka. Dallas does not get better after the trade. In fact, they clearly got worse. As much as we make fun of Doncic's physique, he is still much more durable than Anthony Mr Glass Davis. And Jokic is the only player I can think of who can carry an offense better than him. I do agree to a certain extent with people who say that Luka doesn't fit well with LeBron. But it probably has more to do with LeBron's willingness. LeBron could fit with any player if he wanted.
When he first signed w LA his motivation was to shoot Space Jam 2 and then prepare himself to play with his son. So nope, Championships are only 2nd thoughts.....
The Lakers need to move on from Lebron if they intend to build around Luka. You are not going to be able to build that team to fit Luka unless you move on from Lebron James. His contract is taking up resources, plus you need to cater to him. If you traded for Luka, you need to go ahead and invest in him fully and not waste his prime years on trying to make it work with a 40+ year old player that has to take it easy during certain parts of the season to make sure he has some amount of energy left for the playoffs. They also need to get of Austin Reeves. You can't have a backcourt that has two defensive liabilities. The roster needs to be revamped to be molded in Luka's favor. Also, drop Bronny James.
LeBron was not why they lost and probably not even in the top 5 reasons In fact One could argue he was they best player in the series Rocket River take into account BOTH sides of the ball
