I don't know if it's because we just came out of our rebuild or not... but I'd rather not shorten our window to the point where we have to make all-in moves in the next 2-3 years and then become lottery fodder again for the next 5. Why not make those franchise-altering moves when our finances allow for a bit more urgency and we have a better evaluation and better feel for what our young core will be? We're still a 50-win team with the majority of our team not even close to their prime. I mean, rooting for us to lose games intentionally had its quirks... but I'm not ready to go back to the Silas/KPJ era 3-4 years from now.
Agreed I was gonna say something to the first post… watching the Rockets play under Ime as a whole is almost identical to Watching Giannis play. It’s the exact same basketball style except it’s the entire team
I’m not interested in any player who can’t create consistently and doesn’t have a shot. I say no to Giannis.
He's averaged 30/11/6.5 in the last 2 seasons, I'm glad you're not the GM. He's literally a top 3 player in the league.
Very generous to give him two extra inches. On topic it's probably going to take Green, Reed, Cam and picks to start the conversation. I'd offer, Green, Sengun and two picks. I'd also want to see what the price tag on KD is
Regular season stats mean nothing. He’s a player that relies entirely on athleticism and he’s only getting older. He can’t shoot and he can’t really dribble. He's not a player you give the ball to at the end of a playoff game and expect him to score from outside of 3 feet.
Obviously not. Have you not noticed Giannis mid game? Maybe you haven't seen him create for himself and other with the 6 assist
A playoff series vs a single playoff game is very different. At the time of that post, Giannis had not won a single playoff game in 3 years. He has now won a single game.
Even prime Curry/Klay Warriors didnt totally abandon the midrange with their 3 point bombing. Shaun Livingston was a great "Death Lineup" role player who was a no-3's midrange master. I'm not against giving Amen a couple of the "bully ball" Giannis slash drives either. To keep the defense on its heels. Unlike Jalen Green who slashes but never gets whistles, I think Amen's athleticism can have good results. But yes Amen would do good making more of the middies thats available to him.
You do realize Hakeem went out in the 1st rd 4 straight years and even missed the playoffs after that right?
This comparison makes no sense at all, comparing winning a series vs winning a single game. Giannis had not won a SINGLE playoff game in 3 years in a weak Eastern Conference. You do realize how these are not comparable the least bit right?
