on an annualized basis, that'd be a > 28% drop, which could be worse the longer the tariffs war continues

We have the lowest GDP growth out of any developed nation in the world @Nook . You gave to give the MAGA cultists credit @SuraGotMadHops @Space Ghost where its due. It takes real skill to have lower growth than the UK.

    Congratulations MAGATS

Yes - there is no basis or justification to have the lowest GDP growth.

I am fine with some strategic tariffs but wide spread tariffs are a disaster and the rolling out and withdraw - and then roll out of it has been atrocious, it is a recipe to destroy consumer and producer confidence. No one in business can feel certain what the next 48 hours hold - let alone a year from now.

Its negative. 3% and that's BEFORE the effects of the tariffs. The impacts of the tariffs will be shown on Q2/Q3. Were headed for a deep recession. Congratulations

The tariffs haven’t even really hit yet since stores were stocked for a couple weeks. If the reports are true about the issues at the ports, the effect is going to send consumers into a shell. We’ll see if the reports are true but what some are reporting are import numbers lower than during Covid.

Either way, even at a negative .3%, that’s still bad compared to what it has been since Biden took office and we recovered from Covid.

Trump may inadvertently end up reducing fast fashion and plastic waste in the world for a brief period.

Remember when Democrats said this candidate was the best person to run this country?

6 months later and she still hasn't recovered. When asked what she spends her time thinking about, she starts babbling nonsense about elephants in a zoo like she is talking to a room of toddlers.

    We dodged a catastrophic bullet.

First, she says "allow me to digress."
Then, she starts talking about a specific video of the San Diego Zoo, in which adult elephants form a circle to protect their young during an earthquake.
The video cuts off, but I can kind of tell where she would have gone with this analogy.

Meanwhile, when recently asked by Stephen A. Smith to address the concerns regarding his administration's actions taken against Harvard, Trump rambles about violence in Harlem and then says how he got so many of the black votes.

    But I digress.

The difference is you believe Harris is a great presidential candidate ... who talks to people like they are toddlers.

Trump is a terrible candidate. I voted for Trump 1) Some (not all) of the people he surrounded himself with 2) Harris was just that bad.

No, not at all. My point was that Harris was trying to answer the question regardng concerns of liberal voters with an analogous example, though perhaps not elegantly.

Trump was asked a question about concerns over the Harvard situation from Stephen A. Smith, and he answered by talking about Harlem and how black people like him.

Imagine if less than .001% of the population comes out to celebrate a national leader and you think that is a threat.
