No way this changes in the current quarter, we will officially be in a recession at the end of June

Yep next quarter you will see the tariffs and federal layoffs and spending cuts real impact. It’s 100% going to be worse than this quarter.

This all gets back dated, so it 99% likely we are currently in a recession.

But wait there is more ...

As expected, U.S. economic growth stalled in the first quarter of 2025, almost entirely due to uncertainty about Trump’s economic policies and the impact of tariffs. Real GDP growth was -0,3% in the quarter. Consumer Prices increased by 3.6% in the first quarter, up from 2.4% in the fourth quarter of 2024.

Trump's self-inflicted STAGFLATION recession is upon us. This is the most historically stupid POTUS economic footgun ever.

    It’s just transitory stagflation.

By Christmas all the toy companies will have pulled up roots in foreign countries and will have factories up and running domestically. MAGAs will rejoice at the chance to be paid $10/hr assembling action figures and dolls.

MAGA/Trump/Republicans are just the reverse King Midas - turn everything to ****.

America First policy actually puts American interests last by destroying our alliances & making us into a global pariah

Fix the Economy and Lower Prices ends up in Break the Economy and higher prices

DOGE elimiante waste fraud & abuse ends up maximizing waste fraud & abuse by disabling the regulators who prevent waste fraud & abuse

Make America Healthy means bring back measles & stop trying to cure cancer

It's so depraved, it's an absolute disaster for America.

As long as they "own the libs", and minorities are suffering, they are really just happy with what's transpiring.

Yet, just wait and see how many tens of millions Trump spends to have a huge military parade for his birthday, with thousands of troops, tanks, helicopters, planes, and more. Then the guy wastes so much government money golfing and grifting at his resorts around the country every weekend, attending sporting events, wheeling and dealing for his crypto and real estate ventures abroad, and more. It's all about him and his businesses. The rest of Americans can suffer awhile. If you lose your job, get fired for waste, spend more because of tariffs, or lose you medical research or healthcare it doesn't change his lifestyle, so he doesn't care. He'll just keep blaming Biden. It's never going to change. Get your heads out of your butts and wake up fools.

Trump's 2026 budget is using the billions he's cutting from other agencies to pour into the Defense Department and Homeland Security, even though we already have the biggest defense spending in the world. He's adding another 113.3 billion into the Department of Defense and 42.3 billion into Homeland Security.

Live Updates: Trump Proposes Slashing Domestic Spending to the Lowest Level of the Modern Era

The president’s $1.7 trillion budget blueprint would cut $163 billion for the 2026 fiscal year, offering an outline of his vision for Washington and dramatically curtailing the role and reach of the federal government.

The biggest cuts will go to State and International Programs –84%, National Science Foundation –56%, Environmental Protection Agency –54%, Housing and Urban Development, –44%, Labor–35%, Small Business Administration–33%, Interior–30%, and Health and Human Services–26%.

List of countries with highest military expenditures

It's not like we don't already spend at least ten times more than most countries in the world on defense, and 600 billion more than the 2nd highest spender in China. But, screw science, health, human services, small businesses, research, environmental protection, anything else that helps the people.

He's not adding it to DoD - he's literally funneling it into Elon Musk's pocket.

Elon DOGE went in and illegally destroyed all spending on public goods like Science research, social security, medicare, etc and is instead redirecting it to no bid SpaceX contracts and boondoggles.

Remember, the crime spree of Trump, Musk DOGE is not just to illegally destroy state capacity and to not pay obligations that the Government is legally required to spend - it is to redirect that money into his own pocket and those of his cronies

It is theft, plain and simple.

I knew he would, that's the sickening part. He loves power, and never has hesitated to use that power to funnel money into his family businesses. Elon Musk knew that the quarter of a billion he gave Trump would be paid back in loyalty contracts worth billions. So did all the billionaires who gave him money to seek appointments of power. So do all the foreign leaders abroad who get political favors for investing or approving Trump's businesses. So did all the oil billionaires who wanted to be able to spew more toxic waste, and drill in protected lands.

What kills me is that so many millions who aren't billionaires or multi-millionaires believed he would make their lives better. How could they not see that Trump always has been and always will be a pathological liar, who will say or do anything for money or power at their expense? It's those people who will be the biggest losers. The damage that will be done could take decades or more to fix.

When coal miners, petrochemical industry workers, firefighters, and those working in hazardous conditions see their jobs become even more hazardous, then it's hard to feel sorry for them if they voted for Trump. The same goes for any other people who get sick or die because their air and water are more toxic, or they lose medical research treatments, can't afford healthcare or medicines. The same goes for those who have been fired, struggle to compete and stay afloat with their small business, start facing more discrimination in housing and employment, or become victims of police brutality or unusual punishment because of their skin color or sexual preference. Sure, I feel sorry for them, but they should have known better if they voted for Trump.

Can you imagine our quality of life if we spent only $100B on defense instead of $1 Trillion? It’s estimated universal healthcare would cost $3T a year. Saving $900B from defense would bridge the gap between the $2T that is already spent annually on Medicare and Medicaid.

It’s an absolute absurdity thinking our lives are better off with a $1T in defense rather than universal healthcare.
