If Jalen Green is back with the Rockets next season I'm boycotting.

Unless he takes drastic steps to change who he is, on and off the court, he’s going to remain who he is. I’m not fully convinced he wants to be great. I think he wants to be good enough to be a starter.

 

Harden at least plays well at the beginning of the series and then disappears in Games 6 and 7. Jalen can't even show up for Game 1.

 

You obviously forget Cam got 27 pts against Thunders with high shooting percentage.

 

There is no logical reason at this point for why Cam can't take a good chunk of Jalens minutes. Rockets are now at the elimination point. There is nothing to lose. If Cam shows out, then Ime will look hella dumb for not playing him earlier on, which isbwhy he likely won't play.

Now I am finally on board with trading away Jalen. I've seen enough to know that he is more concerned about having pretty nails than he is about having a consistent shot.

I basically quit watching a lot of games this year after the season started because of that extension.

I wasn't going to invest all hope again that he would be some superstar guard we could count on if we ever made the playoffs. I hated the lack of playing time Reed and Cam wasted bench sitting, when I had a gut feeling all Jalen and Fred's minutes weren't enough to win a championship anyway.

Just remember this.....

Only a couple weeks ago Cam finally got 37 minutes against the Lakers. He scored 34 points in that game, yet has sat on the bench the entire playoffs, even when others were bricking shots, turning over the ball, and struggling to score both in the paint and from the arc. That's just wrong! Ime is a stubborn narrow minded coach who doesn't give enough respect to our bench players.

I'll be skipping media day as a protest against Jalen Greens continued inconsistency. I'm sure the front office will take notice and make changes accordingly.

Cam putting up 27 points against OKC doesn't make him any more of a star than Jalen putting up 30+ in all of those games made him a star. You're just repeating the same mistake as those of us who thought Jalen was a star just on a player who hasn't shown anywhere near the same level of superstar performances - and it's not even remotely close. Cam has none, Jalen has several every year he's played and isn't a star at all.

 

Get ready to boycott then, he won't be easy to dump

 

Cam has had maybe 2% of the opportunity Jalen has had.

Jalen's had one of the longest leashes relative to his actual play for his first 4 seasons. Cam has had one of the shortest leashes relative to his talent/play in his first 2.

I don't think anyone is labelling Cam a star yet, it's just that we see that his talent is rotting away on the bench while we give Jalen opportunity after opportunity after opportunity.

How can you compare 30 and 40 point games between Jalen and Cam when Cam has gotten half as many minutes on the court all year?

That's my point. I wish he had gotten more of Jalen's minutes all year long just to develop. Cam did start a couple of games in April, and scored 37 points starting against the Lakers, yet didn't even come off the bench yet in the playoffs.

It's not like Jalen has run circles Cam in shooting percentages. He only had higher FG and 3 PT percentages in 2 of 5 months from December through April, but averaged 32.26 minutes per game from Dec thru April to Cam's 16.6 min.

The last few weeks of the regular season make me wonder why that is.

I see no evidence that Jalen doesn’t want it. He is extremely professional in his approach. He just might not be able to overcome his lack of bbiq and poor coaching by Ime. If he gets a great offensive coach, he may be able to turn it around.

 

Been saying this all along. At the trade deadline, I wanted to trade Jalen, Landale, Tate, plus picks for KD. Maybe you gotta throw in FVV to make salaries match.
