It is not soccer, in soccer you get a trophy for regular season champions....and there are separate Cups like Champions League.

But NBA is shaped up like this, you got to have Post season success......there is no way around it.

Good regular season records are only there to determine Home Court Advantage = still everything geared towards Postseason.

    You are not wrong
    Definitely something to build on
Looking at Jalen . . . I say he's young. . it's his first playoffs etc etc etc.
The question is . . . do you think he can improve?
Consistency has always been his bane

This postseason is showing us two things:

    1. the perception that we lack shooting and reliable shot creator on the perimeter is real

    2. what Daryl Morey said is true - it is much easier to go from bad to good, than good to great.

    3. what Daryl Morey said is true - Teams must be careful not to make moves that leave you stuck in good territory because you are then there forever. You aren’t bad enough to get high picks/draft a star.

All of which to say - the next moves that Rafael stone make will define whether we are stuck in good or take the next step to contender status.

Also an important point why teams like the Lakers have coasted thru the seasons without having the guarantee of winning chips.

The Rockets have to understand that the regular season is one thing and the Playoffs are a lot better competition due to teams playing much better there.

this was a very winnable series if we had any semblance of an offensive system OR udoka had simply tried any of our bench players who can actually make open shots and FTs. he is past the point of redemption and MUST go. the defense and culture reset have been great but now this team won’t take the next step until he’s replaced

Sure we had a good regular season. But, the playoffs are showing us what we really have. We can play defense and rebound, and that’s a good thing. But, this team needs to make changes if it hopes to win a championship.

All of our best young players have holes in their game. Holes that cost us games. Some of those young players have already played 4 seasons, so they aren’t exactly inexperienced. You have to wonder if they will ever be able to become complete players that are able to actually elevate their games in the playoffs instead of shrink.

Will Sengun ever be a good free throw shooter? Will Amen ever learn to shoot or be able to run an offense? Will Green ever give us the consistency that this team needs? Who will be the PG going forward?

This team has some serious holes to fill to become a true contender. It may be an interesting off season.
