That doesn’t really add up. The point is, Sabonis played real minutes on a team that finished with the third-best defense in the league, and with strong defensive teammates, a smart coach, and the right system, he held up just fine. That's basically the story with Sengun right now, too. Good defenders around him, good coaching, good scheme and he’s getting by. And to be clear, no one's pretending Sabonis is a great defender. He isn't. Just like Sengun isn't.
At some point you have to accept that Sengun simply lacks the talent/coordination to shoot consistently from the outside or to finish inside with any resistance. To an extent you can say “oh gee, can’t believe he missed that” but it’s such a consistent problem for him with anyone who plays remotely physically/tough that it becomes more of a coordination/talent/body control issue.
Sengun is 1 for 1000 from FGs, but leaving it all out on the defense. Gary payton'd Curry twice to end the qtr
i don't trust a big who can't finish around the rim. a perimeter game would be nice, but it's not a deal breaker. finishing strong when facing resistance, that's a must have.
I don't understand the off balance goofy shots. Love bro (pause) but DUDE….he needs to stop that. Pass it before you do that bs.
He's shown up in the playoffs, he'll be ready for the next step next season as well. Play through him like Joker
not over yet he needs to lead the team at least for 1 win. in the summer work on his freethrows and jump shots forget about boxing and **** heck the whole team should stay on the court and practice their freethrows
The warriors tried attacking him all series and it hasn't worked at all. Don't put him in the same breath defensively as Sabonis. He's miles better cuz of his agility and he's quick in small spaces.
Breh missed too many free throws And bunny shots over shorter players Like good but not good enough @Salvy @Os Trigonum
Sorry man, but absolutely not. Rockets dont have a guy they can play through yet on offense. Theyve got to make every effort to find that guy in the off season.
Correct. Which is Why he has played way too many minutes. Adams, Jabari and Sengun have been the best defenders in this series against a team that traditionally takes advantage of PFs and Centers.
He came through in the end, but he NEEDS to have better shooting splits. I'm actually way more concerned about his FG% than anybody else right now, he's supposed to be a big man and his FG% is more like a perimeter player.
