**** that, give me Harden. CP3's more washed than Fred even.

Chris Paul is turning 40 next week, and I don’t see how he’s a starting caliber player on a good team anymore

we need somebody that can actually break down a defense, and Harden is just way more impactful than guys like FVV or CP3…replace Harden with either Fred or CP3 and those Clippers preseason projections of them being a 36 win team and the 12th or 13th best team in the West would’ve come true

Speaking for myself, it's just the idea of an aging heliocentric superstar for a young team trying to evaluate and figure out what they have. Would he just be a player like FVV where we can get him on 2 year + team option deal? I very much doubt it.

Fred his a liability against teams that have height. Amen could bring far more as the pg. you can lob him at the rim as a pg

    Honestly . . . .I'd rather work with Sheppard
CP3's defense is gone and ain't coming back
    Sheppard has the potential

    Leadership in action.

Smith green and eason with the no show last game.

But at least he finally had a good game this series

This is exactly it. I don’t want Sengun, Jabari, Green, and Amen to turn into Clint Capela, Trevor Ariza, Danuel House, and PJ Tucker. I want them to have to develop their own identities and not just become 3-and-D guys or lob threats.

that’s why FVV, for all his flaws, was the better fit for this team.

I get the impatience by fans but we still have a lot to figure out. It’s no secret that Ime is a defensive minded coach, not really surprising he went with a more defensive option.

I think FVV, for all of his warts, also gives the rockets more opportunity to evaluate the young core instead of having the heliocentric offense.

We sink or swim with the young guys playing in the role that their best case potential has them playing in. The information we get from that is extremely valuable and can be the difference between building a multi-year championship contender and compromising our future for short-term gains.

Again I don’t understand where this logic comes from. The only guys who were relegated to being lob threats and 3&D guys next to Harden were going to be lob threats and 3&D guys next to anyone. Embiid, Maxey, PG, Kawhi, KD, Kyrie none of these guys were relegated to some minor role because of Harden.

Harden does have an unbelievable ability to get the best out of the 3&D or lob threats type players(All the Rockets you listed, Zubac, Powell etc), but when a player has capabilities to do other things I fail to see a situation where Harden neutered them from doing so.

And I will reiterate….this is not me making an argument that we should have gotten Harden over FVV. Im just debating the validity of claims against Harden. I just don’t find them to be accurate or evidence based.

Quite frankly, this is some of the dumbest **** I have heard on here. When Harden gets on the court he is an alien and turns everyone into robots that only respond to him. On what planet does that make any sense. Harden elevates and adapts the talent around him. All the guys he mentioned were at their best next to Harden. If you surround him with better talent, he does more with it. Harden has a skill that FVV does not possess and that is breaking down a D.

The cope on here for FVV is just f****n unreal. Those 3 or 4 assists he made are just amazing. Him doing nothing but standing there was so uplifting. Him launching 30 foot 3s are not TOs those are good shots taking what the D gives you. He had 1 good game out of 10 or 20, you can't ask for more than that and that is what we paid him to come here and do. Him getting torched on D, those guys were taller than him. Him getting torched in this series... OK, he's short and slow but we can leave him out there a long time... I never thought I would see Linsanity again on this board.

Harden putting on a show in a close out game. Wonder if FVV will be able to do the same

Fred VanVleet was exactly what the Rockets needed at the right moment. He brought stability to the offense, ran the point with poise, and helped guide the younger players through their growing pains.

But now, in this next phase, James Harden would be a better fit. It's not just about talent but about what this team needs at this point in its evolution. Harden could push the offense into a new gear.

EVERYONE HAS LOWLIGHTS. Just like everyone has highlights and I mean everyone. I can make a highlight video of me making a **** ton of threes. Doesnt make me the best three point shooter ever.

Harden has a more noble task in the Playoffs, to help Kawhi and JVG.....
