it goes back to my point of if I’m a coach and I know we only lost once when JG scores over 30 - my goal would to get him going every game and make sure he takes the most FGA… knowing he’s also a 40% shooter from 3 in catch and shoot situations… I’m putting him on same side as Alpi if they decide to double post … problem is with FVV being no threat in paint; he has zero gravity… and then Amen and DB can’t draw no one in to create those looks. Majority of his catch and shoot 3s are off offensive rebounds and kick outs / Alpi passing it back out
That's not the offensive gameplan. We just need to work harder, play tougher and turn defense into offense.
that is because the majority of you don't see stuff until way after I see it.......it's ok, I am used to it. DD
lol usually every time you post in here he goes off again…. So let’s pray this trend continues and we win 2 games in a row and close them out in 7 at home ……
Jalen doesn't have the innate basketball IQ that recognized weaknesses of the defense or his own offense in order to exploit them or fix them. That is why he hasn't improved as much as we have hoped over the past 5 years. When others point out things to work on, like Udoka who challenged him on defense and ball security, he is able to get better at those things. However, the Greats are able to start that analysis on their own, either over the course of a game, series, or at least in the off season with self scouting. Basically not having shown that ability tell us that Jalen probably won't reach the ceiling we were all hoping for. He is still super young and definitely will improve, but you have to put some other good players around him and an offensive coach/assistant coach that can help hide his weaknesses. Even with that, you're not going to get that much value for him in a trade, and just trading him to get rid of him is not a smart way to run this team. Especially since he appears to do everything else you want a player to act, work out,, take criticism, etc that you want all your players to follow. It just hasn't and probably won't translate to him being a star. He could still easily be a good player on a winning or contending team though.
to start the series I said he needed to use Floater like Bane and JA was using that was eating GS up … wouldn’t be as bad if FVV actually used a floater …that would soften them up - We have Amen and Alpi trying to use the Floater/Shotput but their touch is horrid lol
He definitely is consistent in his inconsistency , I think a lot of that will stick given his shot selection and playstyle I think the key for him success wise will be always giving it all on defense. We need a better guard next to him . I'm not saying green will be a superstar , but if he keeps improving defensively , he could be one of the best guard defenders in the league . We need a good shooter next to him . He needs to learn PG. And be able to run the offense for stretches . He's not as physical as cade , but he's got speed. I think starting next year we are in his prime. Sengun and Thompson are also part of our core. We are not currently contracted as a "numero uno" type team
Nothing like seeing the fake AllStar Herro team down 39 while he’s 1-7 from 3 and 1-8 from field ….folks want to replace JG with that bum …
1/3 with 3 points in the 2nd quarter. He just doesn't have that "it" factor that superstars have.. he's content being a 3rd wheel
Alperen is clearly still the Guy but he ain't SGA or Jokic. I reserve my judgement on Jalen, I am not his fan.....too much negativity isn't doing it as well.
