I think he's normally a lot better in the half court game than this. He looks nervous and out of sorts out there, this isn't his normal game. He's missing shots around the basket and short midrange that he normally makes. He's missing passes he normally sees. I'm disappointed in his production too though. Mostly I chalk it up to growing pains.
Like every player who can't shoot, teams just sag more aggressively in the playoffs. Then the player has to go from taking a few surprise midrange shots to several contested midrange shots and it tanks their efficiency. Very common. Really don't think it's nerves. It's just horrendous spacing in the paint forcing him into tough shots and lots of swipes taken at the ball when he drives. Playing two non-shooters is simply a bad idea these days.
Some people don't have Amen Thompson in their top 5 in Houston. It won't be long before he's a top 5 two way player in the entire league
He already is. He's figured it all out last game. The awkwardness is that he's got an identical twin.
Playoff Edition: Amen Sengun Jabari Dillon. Sengun is allowing 37% on the shots he contests 14 of them per game. Only Goober, Horford, Chet and Aquaman are a percent better( 36%) But but, I said he was going to exposed because I think I know ball from all the posts I make!!! You're lying!!! 2 steals per game and 23 deflections total, that's 2nd. Not for centers, for all positions. Deflections lead to steals/ rushed shots/resets Rating Alpi:107 Amen:111 Jabari: 114 Dilon: 116 Amen is really like an 80 since he is having to guard Curry and absorb moving tackles from Post and donkey.
Two Way Players are good in the switch everything defense but without being a complete liability on offense I look at Gobert last night . .. . he would be a demon if his offense was consistent Rocket River
