Kojak was mostly filmed in California, but they did some production in NYC. Baretta was in the 70's. Starsky & Hutch was in the 70's. The Dukes of Hazzard started at the very end of the 70's and went into the 80's Hill Street Blues was in the 80's McCloud was in the 70's. Then there were the Detective -- PI shows such as The Rockford Files, Mannix, Banacek, etc that I think were in the 70s. When the Rural Comedies from the 60's were dropped, they weren't replaced with more Rural Comedies.
I don't know enough about these shows besides Dukes of Hazzard and Starsky and Hutch to say if we're arguing or in agreement. Just drawing on my own knowledge and memories; I was born in the 1973, so as most kids in that age, there wasn't much on TV besides Saturday morning for us to watch, just the regular adult crap at night.
Mostly in agreement with you. In the 50's into the first part of the 60's, there were a fair amount of Western TV series such as Rawhide, Wagon Train, etc. Then it narrowed down mostly to Bonanza, Gunsmoke and The Big Valley, with the Rural Comedies that I mentioned earlier becoming popular. When networks transitioned to the Police, Detective, PI shows that I mentioned, it made it difficult for the Western - Rural TV shows to continue because there was only so much Prime Time available to allocate.
Some of the popular shows from the 60's were much different than what the networks transitioned to for the 70's
The Big Valley came across as Over The Top with the Rich family dominating. This scene though is interesting. At about 2:40 is when it gets really going Things were different in the 60's.
Never watched an episode. Wife does not like that specific type of filming. Thats why I had to binge Parks and Rec on my own in the basement.
I did love wings and Family ties NBC rocked when they had: Cosby show Cheers Facts of life Different strokes Wings Night Court Frazier and the fresh prince wife always loved Will and Grace
For me Scrubs Fawlty Towers Black adder Better off Ted Brooklyn nine nine I would not call Psych a sitcom, but otherwise I would include that aswell.
