The same constable in my neighborhood has twice in one month stopped his car to tell me to leash my dog.

Today I said, "But she is 12 years old. She will not take anyone's baby." He didn't like that!

    Heypartner,

Kudos to you for steping away from your computer and getting some fresh air. Maybe someday I'll work up the courage. [IMG]

The dog catcher does strictly enforce it, especially in residential areas, if your dog is unattended. My in-laws have had to bail their dog out twice for escaping the yard.

They have to enforce it for your dog, in order to enforce it for Butch, the 200 lb Rotwieler/bullog mix that does steal babies. [IMG] When being mad at you overcomes the annoyance of having to do the extra paperwork, you could get a ticket.

Okay sorry, I couldn't help it.

I am pretty sure there is a leash law in Houston. I'm not sure what the exact wording is, but it is loosely enforced, especially outside the loop.

I think it's used more when there are problems with animals, in order to say, "Hey, we have a leash law, you should've kept your animal under control." instead of something to continually police.
