and deservingly so. Just hard to watch as I don't recall seeing Alvarez this hapless for this long of a duration. Hopefully and soon, he can shake off the "Bergmanitis" he seemed to have caught to start the season.
Yeah, he grounded into a sweet DP when we finally had all the momentum, crowd rocking and a chance to blow game 2 open. Don’t know why people keep talking about him. He’s doing well - great for him. Going to get paid a contract we would never consider - great for him. The players we got back by trading him will be vital for this teams success moving forward the next several seasons.
No. I hate getting shutout. I have no idea why you would say a 2-0 or 3-1 win would be lame. But yes, universally, getting shutout doesn’t fall under “well I love a good pitchers duel” only know it all hipsters would say that *except for the kerry wood game. It sucked, but we knew we were witnessing history.
That was ugly. And crazy.- something like 12 of the 13 hardest hit balls were by the Astros? Sometimes you are the windshield- sometimes you are the fly.
Meanwhile, Royals had 3 bloop hits. The bloop-hit count this season is like 25-5 in our opponent's favor. Long season. These things usually even out.
Lugo is a good pitcher who'd been somewhat struggling this season. He entered yesterday with a 3.90 ERA and had never went 7 IP this year. Then, what happened ??.... he pitched 8 shutout innings with a .500 WHIP. Astros offense sucked last night and made Lugo look better than he is. Yordan (and many of his teammates) need to get their heads out of their arse.
I've never seen such parody as we are witnessing right now. There are only 3 teams with a record worse than 10-14. 22 of the 30 teams between 10-14 and 15-10.
what happened? He ran head first into the completely stoppable force that is our offense. How many times have we seen our offense elevate struggling and mediocre opposing pitchers? This has been several years now. But the hitting coaches are good friends with the players so it’s all good
