I've been thinking about starting a thread on this exact subject. Since free agency, it's been obvious to me the Texans believe coaching was the primary problem with the O-line. It wasn't that the talent was great, but the problems shouldn't have been nearly as catastrophic as they were. The OC and/or offensive coaches were either clueless or just lost the players. What I can't get out of my mind is the ridiculous number of times there were free rushers at CJ. At a minimum, each o-lineman picks up one player and delays him by at least 1 second.
Depends how they play together. Stroud's rookie year the line was @$$ until a bunch of guys got hurt then the backups played fine. Wait and see. If it's a disaster, they can still make trades or pickup roster cuts during camp. That's how we got Laremy in the first place.
Same people who hated the Bullock pick, hate the Smith pick… I trust Demeco on knowing what he’s missing … when Pitre and Ward went down we had nothing behind them…and we need speed on D, that combined with him being familiar with Texans and their Culture … I understand the pick
lol he’s not getting fired; I think like everyone has said, it’s all on coaching and scheming to improve their o line issues
And if the OL turns out to be better than last year or above average, you should stop posting for a year.
Isn't he the guy everyone says can't draft offensive lineman? Why are you upset he's not picking them?
Going to have to trade up to get Jaydon Blue or Bhayshul Tuten. Is Metchie part of that package? My Day 3 targets TE Mitchell Evans, CJ Dippre, Jalin Conyers (fits the theme), OT Logan Brown, Cameron Williams, Hollin Pierce IOL Jalin Rivers (fits the theme), Garrett Dellinger, Hayden Conner, IDL Zeek Biggers LB Brandon George Edge Elijah Ponder
To be fair, it's not hard to be better than 32nd, but above average might be a stretch. I sure hope it was just the scheme and coaching, but I'm not jumping for joy on not drafting 2 of the best players available for the offensive line in the first 3 rounds.
Really hope this doesn’t turn out to be the Andrew luck Colts, when their Gm drafted wr’s early and spent the latter rounds trying to fix the oline, only to be left wondering why their offensive line wasn’t good and giving up a bunch of sacks.
