That is an issue for sure.
We don’t have enough true scoring threats when either Jalen or Alp sit

I think its two fold; Ime has to TRUST Jalen no matter what and stop falling back on FVV, if Jalen has a lull in his play.

With Jalen it's obvious! ITS HIS CONFIDENCE MORESO THAN BEING STREAKY.

Ime can not sit him for long periods when his shot is not on. He has proven that he can turn it on at any time but if you take him out, you lose him. I rather have Jalen taking 20 shots, than FVV

Great analysis! I saw the same thing last night. When Jalen sat, there was a drop off. FVV can not get past anyone nor create. Cam would've made a difference.

Come on DD, I know you have more to say than that. I've seen it before. Lol

    Well this is just false.

The first play was a perfect pass from Jalen to Amen. the 2nd play was a Jalen 3. The 3rd play was a pass to amen that led to free throws. He was dictating the game and had already scored with Jimmy out there.

Jalen had 3pts and 3 assists when Jimmy went out

The few people doing victory laps Monday morning who bothered to show up so far have completely moved the goal posts, even including delusions like this. In the thread about spacing, there are posters rewriting the game's history too.

I loved that he was handing out the dimes rather than forcing it when he didn't have a clean path to the basket

Jalen is him / he / they / them. :p

    LFG

Imagine Jalen with superstar-ish calls from refs. OMG. He would be unstoppable.
Shot off? No problem. Drive to the cup. And 1 or 2 Fts from charity stripe. Play D.

Effort, D and FTs can be brought every game, oh and making the right pass/assist.

    LFG

2 turn overs in first quarter. Doesn't matter. Time will tell in these playoffs. Either way I win. I win the argument or i lose the argument but Jalen is doing good and therfor so should the rockets. If being wrong about him means rockets win then that's fine by me.

Scottie Pippen had 28 on 16 shot attempts and 6-10 from 3 point land ...... 9 shots less than Jalen.

How much was that from attacking POA defenses and not from being set up by teammates?

People look at the end result fg% but can't conceptualize probability computations. Think of the set of events and the probability of those individual events that lead up to a scoring efficiency of a singular player?

A player who gets more of his scoring from set ups has more series of probabilistic events that lead up to the final scoring efficiency where the final scoring efficiency is just the last probabilistic events that leads to said scoring play.

Let's take a scoring play from a player who made a open catch and shoot three off a pnr blitz off the primary ball handler and do some theoretical math so you understand what I'm talking about.

The probability of the pnr action of the ball handler being blitzed = 60%

The probability of the ball handler successfully passing out to the short roller from the blitz without turning it over or having to hold on to the ball long enough where the advantage from the blitz disappears= 70%

Probability of the short roller successfully catching the ball and making the right read to the open shooter:
    60%

Probability of the shooter making that open 3 pt shot:
    Their catch and shoot 3 pt fg%. Let's say it's 45%

Let's do the math to figure out the probability of a successfully executed play of that player making a open three pointer starting from the initial action:

.6 * .7 * .6 * .45 = 11% rate of the play successfully leading to a made open three pointer for that player in that specific action.

The more you self create against POA defenses, the less series of probabilistic events occur.

Cam Whitmore puts up 1 point per minute he plays.

But everyone else who has to listen to you doomers feel smart for "winning the argument" loses because it's insufferable. You don't have to **** on the players on our roster to look smart on the internet. It won't work anyways because nothing about Rockets fans making sweeping declarations about young players in a negative way prematurely makes you sound smart.

My suggestion for you and every other doomer who overreacted to game 1, even if Jalen never has a good playoff game again and Wednesday was a total fluke or whatever, is to just be patient and enjoy the games.

But I'm just some random guy begging for internet accountability. I am dumb for even trying. Oh well.

It's the internet bro. Literally none of this matters. Go take your meds and lay down. Also Jalen isnt new to the NBA. Do you even have a clue about what I even am criticizing?

Cam Whitmore also isn't scared to play basketball. Hopefully next year he gets more playing time.

He often seems terrified of running back on defense if he misses a shot though, that's a problem.
