I find myself rooting for the Clippers in their series with Denver, probably because of some subconscious attachment to Harden and JVG as a Rockets fan (frankly, I have mixed feelings about Harden, but still find myself rooting for him). If not the Rockets, I’d like to see them win a championship. Curious if others here feel similarly.
This article that discusses the relationship between JVG and Harden made me wish we could have seen them together in Houston: https://sports.yahoo.com/nba/articl...anged-the-identity-of-our-team-171650590.html
of course I’m rooting for the Clippers, that’s not even in question if the Rockets don’t win it all, I’d love for the Clippers to go all the way and Harden get his 1st championship they’re also easy to root for…an underdog team that was totally counted out after losing Paul George for nothing…they were projected to finish no higher than 12th in the WC, but they won 50 games and are on the verge of making the 2nd round
Good stuff. Bittersweet? Yes, but like you said, still end up subconsciously pulling for Harden and JVG after everything that they gave to the Rockets over the years.
yeah like Dallas fans having mixed feelings about Luka because he's fat lazy, lacking in defense, and did not win a chip for them
The nuggets are also dysfunctional garbage, with one of the worst/cheapest ownership groups and horrendous management. If they get bounced in round 1, good chance Jokic asks out, which has a chance to be incredible for the rockets. Definitely helps us if denver gets smoked.
What are you prepared to give up for Jokic? Also tbh I dont think Jokic will ever ask out cuz it doesnt seem like he cares about his "legacy" enough. Being a bball player seems its just a job for him he is just exceptionally good at it.
Sengun, tari, 3 premium 1sts, 2 rockets 1sts would be a reasonable offer. He's been talking a lot more, he's clearly upset with how bad they are.
I have never liked the Clippers. JVG and Harden don't change that at all for me. Only good thing about them winning is it pokes Lakers fans in the eye.
I would agree. I haven't watched many Rockets games over the last 3-4 years, which is probably why, but I haven't yet grown attached to our young core the way I came to love Harden. I also always loved JVG and thought he was an underrated coach, despite his lack of success here. I'm sure this core will continue to grow on me, though. I think we have a great, hard-working, high-chemistry squad. (To be clear, I'm rooting for the Rockets first, but I very much still have a soft spot for Harden)
Well, now I am rooting for them! Great article. I hadn’t been tracking Van Gundy’s role on the team, but that’s awesome.
Yeah but the thing is if ever Jokic says he wants out I think OKC should give up everything for him. The two best players in the league on one team I think its over.
I honestly find it hard to root for any other team to win other than the Rockets. Of course Harden will always have a place in my heart and my fav player of all time is goat James but any other team winning a ring other the Rockets is all the same to me.
Yeah, of course I root for them. They clearly have a higher chance of beating OKC than the Nuggets, which would enhance our odds of getting out of the west. No brainer.
I been trying to figure out what was up with the Nuggets Firing the coach was a wake up call for me They seemed like they were ready to run for a few years Rocket River
