Crazy how many ppl here still think we got duped. Really think for the 2nd year in a row Caserio stood pat while the players he for sure wanted because everyone mocked them to us get taken right before us.. Texans have one of the most tight-lipped organizations in the league. I fully believe if they wanted Jackson or golden or Simmons or conerly, they would have made it happen. Whoever they wanted will be there at 34. Let’s see how it plays out before raking him over the coals. Speaking of tight-lipped, Giants GM’s son letting everyone know about Dart hours before the draft is funny.
Very true... If Nick was trying to get up into the teens, then surely he could have gotten up to 23 if they wanted Jackson. I'm guessing that they didn't want to pay the steak-house price for a burger that was just as good at Chili's. I was happy that we traded back to reset our positioning and look for better value spots. Bummer that the Rams got a 40% off coupon on their meal and we only got 10% off, but hey, a discount is a discount... you don't complain, you move on and you look to exploit ATL in the future Nick won't hesitate to trade up on Friday night if that's what's needed to get his guy. Go Texans!
The Athletic mock (Round 2 + 3) 34. Houston Texans (from NYG): Luther Burden III, WR, Missouri C.J. Stroud needs protection up front, so offensive tackle could be an option for the Texans after they traded out of the first round. But adding a legit playmaker who gives off Deebo Samuel vibes feels like great value. 58. Houston Texans: Jonah Savaiinaea, G, Arizona The Texans trade out of the first round gave them the opportunity to address two serious needs with possible starters in Round 2. Savaiinaea is a versatile guard who would help keep Stroud upright. 79. Houston Texans (from MIA via WAS/PHI): Jacob Parrish, CB, Kansas State 89. Houston Texans: Anthony Belton, OT, NC State 99. Houston Texans (from NYG)*: Omarr Norman-Lott, DT, Tennessee
I was falling asleep, the draft is way too long. I wanted to draft Jackson but I think the trade is fantastic.
I am intrigued by how this plays out tonight. I'd like to walk away from the second round with an offensive skill position player and a lineman. I'm intrigued by some of the skill guys out there. Elijah Arroyo, Mason Taylor, Luther Burden, Jayden Higgins, Noel, Bech, Royals, Kyle Williams, among others. If it were me, I'd do something like Burden and Ratledge or flip the script and do something like Ersery and Williams.
I would say add a vet IOL (Schreff or Hernandez) on Monday at 4 PM (after compensatory window has passed). REALLY sux we got sniped 2X. Pretty sure Nick was feeling confident at 22 when the Chargers went Hampton. He was prolly like obvi 1 of our 2 (Golden or DJ) is going to make it to 25. And then....
probably not popular but I'd trade down from 34 into the mid 40s for an extra future 2nd rounder. 493rs and Dolphins both need a holy phenom at safety. 48th pick: Ratledge 58th pick: Kyle Williams
Saw a few scouts compare him to Kadarius Toney in terms of character issues, On top of calling him a gadget player in the Mizzou offense. Do not want. edit: Seth and Sean think RB TreVeyon Henderson is in play with the 34th pick. I’m ok with that if it happens tbh.
Did not know that. Scratch that. No wonder he's falling. Chiefs will gladly draft him at the end of the second.
I'm not into Burden. Great talent but not a Texans guy. Dude is a DIVA. If he doesn't get the ball, he's throwing fits. Ironically, Lance Z just mentioned this. Dude quit on his team when he didn't get a target on a post route. I said early on, he has character issues.
