I've been thinking this exact trade was likely with Booker or DJax being the Texans pick. We have a good working relationship with the Eagles, they have a bevy of 4th/5th rounders that they would probably like to turn into picks next year and we would likely want a developmental OT/TE/RB/DT in that range.

    Texans in: 25, 241, Eagles 2026 6th

Eagles in: 32, 96, one of their 4 picks between 161-168

I'm fascinated with the idea of trading up to 32 for an early 2nd round rated pick just for the 5th year option. This is particularly true for a developmental pick with a high ceiling.

    Arroyo has great hands.

Speed like Hayes also stretched the defense which helped open up the run game because the safeties had to play deep/

Did you watch any games last year? Schultz was/is a terrible blocker. Awful

From all reports I've read, they aren't really serious about trading Williams, but realistically it would be a 1st. They have 5th year option/potential franchise year(s) or could let him walk for compensatory 3rd, so makes no sense for them to let go of him for anything less than a 2nd. They are in a competitive window, don't see them tossing out a young, talented WR that helps their offense stretch the field while also breaking a new playcaller in. Similar to the Tee Higgins situation, there may be rumblings, but I don't think a trade is remotely imminent there.

With Zabel off the board and both Booker and Jackson still available at 25, you take one of them. Trading back seven spots and hoping they’re still there feels like overthinking it and getting too cute. This is one of those trades I’d silently boo in the moment, sweating, hoping it works out, then wipe my brow and admit, good trade. It is getting close to the draft and I think I'm losing my nerves.

When he said run first I think he meant running away from blocking.

I bet they do a deal with the Raiders if the deal with the Bears doesn't get done.

Here's how I hope day 2 and 3 of this draft goes.

    1-25 Conerly or Jackson
    2-58 Ratledge or Milum
    3-79 Traded for Jameson Williams.
3-89 Arroyo even if I had to trade up for him
    5-166 Brashard Smith.

This offense would be the type of offense that the defense could be proud of.

Good catch. I meant pass first and I agree he was terrible blocking. I know he tried, but just left everybody frustrated.

Both true, but it didn't make the drops any less frustrating.

I would give up 2-58 for him.

You're probably right about a 2nd, but Jeremiah/Broaddus IIRC said they were asking for a 3rd. They're very connected around the league.

Yeah, that's what his tape showed last year.

This depends on what they think of the next cluster of OL, Ratledge/Milum/Ersery etc....
