7 points and 2 assists in a playoff game is a perfect game from your starting point guard???

    Man stop the cap

The future of a rebuild inherently can't be put on a 35 year old. It's the young players step up or we fail.

The only thing “embarrassing” is having to watch Fred dragging himself around the court jacking up bricks while cashing his $45 mil salary checks. I don’t even want him back on a discount anymore. If I pay you $90 mil for two years of basketball, that doesn’t mean you get to take off that 2nd year.

If anyone thinks that our #1 goal this offseason shouldn’t be upgrading Fred, they haven’t been watching the rockets all year. By far the most disappointing player on the roster. This isn’t even a debate.

Oh yes, because that 35yr old has turned all the 20yr olds around him into mush or something? That he has sucked all the blood out of all the young players around him during his career? I don't want to sound rude, but have you watched a single Rockets game during Harden's time here? Because if you did, you'd know he has elevated more than a few youngsters. Much more than say, FVV has done in his Toronto career.

    In 2018, people thought that.

In 2023, few people thought that anymore. He had injuries and had just participated in the implosion of 3 consecutive teams.

OBVIOUSLY the Rockets goal is to deal with FVV's contract this summer. That is by design, he's on a team option.

Yes, it was a perfect game. The Rockets were up by 20 at two seperate times. Would you have been satisfied if they were up by 30? lol. The only stat that matters is score board. Jalen was cooking. Steph only had 20 points.

This team goes as far as Jalen takes them. FVV just needs to be Steady Fready. Don't make mistakes, get the ball up the court, help the team get into sets, play decent defense, hit open 3's (gulp). That's it. If you are counting on FVV to be their savior, you are doing it wrong.

Funny enough, FVV's stats are exactly Jalen's stats from the previous game. 7pts, 2assists.

btw, Is this @Reeko's new burner account? Your "gumpy old man vibe" is showing.

Sucks he’s the whipping boy because he played really great setting up the offense and playing defense. Obviously his shooting sucked again.

FVV and Sengun were great getting the team good shots. FVV PNR with Sengun led to several hockey assists as Sengun was finding guys.

Fvv bootlickers are in the similar mchale situation where they seem to think the team success is bc fvv is playing his "role".
Team is doing well not bc of him but r overcoming him as he tries to drag the team down.

This series the man is averaging 40 mins.
    22% fg, 15 % 3pt and 8 fking pts.

Man is a fking anchor. He's just lucky our team is talented enough to carry his a$$. Literally trial by fire for our youngsters having to do the heavy lifting while this overpaid pg is there bc of "leadership" and championship experience.

I’ll give him credit for his defense last night, but his defense in game 1 sucked and his offense has sucked in both games. The problem is we don’t have a viable alternative for now. Amen should’ve been given more run as the PG throughout the season to make him more comfortable in the role. Holiday is terrible and Reed would be a deer in the headlights in the playoffs. Hell, Amen has had severe jitters so far, not to mention how the refs are treating him. FVV should be playing off the ball exclusively the rest of the way, unless we are protecting a sizable lead in the 4th quarter and need to slow it down.

Its one thing to state we have no better alternative it's another to see some fvv bootlicker spinning fvv sht performances are truly helping us win.
Trial by fire for green and sengun.
Green is inconsistent and streaky yet somehow fvv is putting up an even shtty performance.

Green has to go supernova every game if fvv is playing like this.

Fred went 2-8 from the field and 1-7 from beyond the arc. It was far from a perfect game. He's been awful offensively in this series. Did he do a good job defensively, take care of the ball, and limit his shot attempts? Absolutely. I'd call it an efficient game, not a perfect one. And the Rockets have won lots of games this season in which he had very similar numbers, including the win a few weeks ago at Golden State.

Fred played 60 games in the regular season and shot 50% or better only 12 times. That's a mere 20% of the season. The good news is statistically speaking, he should have one game in this series where he does shoot well since it's at least going 5 games.

But regardless, the Rockets need to move on this offseason. It would be malpractice if Fred remains the starter next year.

Nah, I'm not blaming the one actual great player for his team full of misfits, cast-offs and fringe-starters not winning a chip when they were only even remotely competitive because of his genius. That's the revisionist history, pretending that Pat Bev and Ryan Anderson and co are legitimately responsible for any of the winning we did. Without Beard half of those players would struggle to see the court on most teams.

I wouldn't mind the 15% from 3 as much if he wasn't shooting 10 per game. Cut that in half and we will have a better shot. Even if he gets hot, 5 attempts will be fine.

Yeah, his lack of interest in basketball when he is not getting paid 50 million a year was the reason people thought he might have declined.

It was lack of interest, drama queen-ism, and greed for money/materialism.

FVV was great at setting up the offense in game 2. His timing on executing plays with Sengun was on point and led to several hockey assists. He was passing ahead to keep the pushing the pace. He played his game and didn’t overshot. Not to mention the defense was great as well.

It would be nice if Fred was a better player. But, he has done what he was brought here to do. He was supposed to be a bridge to help take the Rockets from the worst team in the league to a contending team. Mission accomplished.

It’s silly to complain about his salary, because that is what it took to bring in the best available PG at that moment in time. Furthermore, the Rockets can now let him go at the end of the season and then he’s gone. It really worked out well for everyone involved. And make no mistake about it, this team definitely needed a vet to help lead all our young players.

Fred wasn’t brought in to take us to a championship THIS season. The Rockets have gone from bad to good much faster than many expected. Fred was brought in to be a stabilizing influence for two seasons. Now those two seasons are almost over and the team can focus on finding a PG that can take us to a championship in the coming seasons.

Fvv fanboy ive seen it all :D:D:D

Gotta love that steady 2-8 and 4-19 shooting. God forbid we expect more for a third of the teams salary
