Remember how Arian Foster ran and his without looking at his number or name you knew it was him? That's what I see in Kaleb Johnson. He also doesn't look fast like Arian but with that stride he has, he still manages to pull away from DBs. Not saying he's Arian Foster but that was something I noticed. Kaleb Johnson and Jaydon Blue would be a great 1-2 (Thunder - Lighting) type duo if we didn't have Joe Mixon.
I normally like sitting and seeing how the draft plays out because I don't like trading picks in the first three rounds but I'd be ok with drafting OL first round then using our second this year and the commanders second next year to move up if a WR falls.
I think moving up in this draft for a OG, OT or a DT is a mistake. WR, Golden, yes! First thing, Nick hasn't made a good decision on the OL since he's been here. Draft nor FA. Second thing, Booker didn't test well, reminds me of Kenyon Green and Banks seems like a Tunsil type player....ALL FLASH Finally, I think the smart thing to do is to trade back get more picks and let Nick's take more stabs at the OL position, surely he has to hit at some point. But letting Nick put #25, #58 and a future pick into one player is a bad move.
I agree I want Golden but if you tell me Banks is Tunsil then sign me up for that. That’s a franchise LT if true.
Banks = Tunsil? I don’t see that. Maybe you’re thinking of Josh Simmons? I haven’t heard Banks is flashy at all.
I love that Caserio is so willing to make draft day moves. He really is one of the best GM’s in football.
I forced a trade up based on rumors and came up with this: Trade Pick 25 (Traded Again); Pick 58 Omarr Norman-Lott; 2026 HOU 1st; 2026 HOU 2nd for LAR Pick 6 6.Will Campbell OT LSU 79.Jack Bech WR TCU 89.Emery Jones OT LSU Trade Picks 166 and 241 for NYJ Pick 162 162.Jack Nelson OT Wisconsin Trade Picks 236 and 2026 Min 6th for CIN Pick 193 193.Jaydon Blue RB Texas
Tunsil either for that matter. But if you’re gonna trade up for any player this draft, I’ll happily take the Tunsil-comparable.
One of the Draft’s biggest curiosities is #OSU OT Josh Simmons, a sure first-round talent coming off a patellar tendon rupture in October. While opinions vary, teams were impressed with where he was at Combine rechecks. He squatted 225 in April. He’s already doing sled work. It’s all positive, with no setbacks. Simmons could very well be cleared before training camp, an indication he’s still considered a first-rounder.
As a UT guy, I do love Golden. Don't get me wrong. But I would not trade up for him. In fact, I'm a little surprised there's been so much buzz about him in the first round. He had some monster games toward the end of the season, but he also had so many duds. Pretend the combine results aren't there and take away the SEC Championship and the ASU game, and he'd be a Day 2 guy without question. The traits are there and you have to consider Ewers' limitation as a downfield passer, but guys with so-so college production who just happen to test well are scary to me, especially in the first round. If they go WR in the first, I'd rather hold pat and take Egbuka. He might not be as sexy a pick, but the production is there, he's got that prior relationship with Stroud and he's a complete player at WR who does a little of everything well. Personally, though, I'd rather stay pat or trade back to target the best OL on the board. You only trade up for OL if you think there's going to be a run and you have a small list of guys at the top you really want.
He's definitely more expensive than an UDFA. Blue is definitely a Hybrid, much like Pitre on defense, he has skills than don't fit neatly into traditional roles. But could be worth the effort.
I’m usually not in favor of trading away picks to move up in a draft. However, I wouldn’t be surprised to see Nick trade away the 2nd and 3rd round picks we received for Tunsil for an additional second round pick in this years draft. The Texans are in win now mode, and are in a protect Stroud now mode. We need to hit on two offensive linemen this draft. The linemen we acquired for the offensive line this off season are not good. We can’t have another year of Stroud getting pounded.
I believe Banks is a franchise LT and I would give up 1-25 and the 2026 1st for him. The 2026 1st would be a 25-32 type pick and that's a reasonable cost for a franchise LT for the next 10 years. Pluss you would still have two 2nd's a 3rd and two 4ths to move up into the 1st if there is a guy Caserio really likes in the 1st rd in 2026.
The network will have gone to commercial when the Texans pick comes in. We will all miss it regardless.
