As an American I felt a need to explain to the foreigners I met from Germany, Switzerland, France, Italy, and Argentina that I didn't vote for the nutjob in charge while on my vacation in Costa Rica. None of them had any respect for him, and they thought he was as crazy and disgusting as I do. I sure as hell didn't want them thinking I was in the red hat cult.

The same folks who think it's no big deal that Trump had boxes and boxes of highly classified documents stacked all over his resort where he entertained and fundraised foreign officials, big money donors, and white collar criminals. They didn't care that he lied about it and obstructed justice either.

Actually, he took a lot of s*** for it on the left. They just didn't drag out the tired "DEI" trope. He was just being a dumbass, regardless of color.

"Wars are ending"? The Israelis are still killing Gazan civilians (guess that doesn't count), Putin is telling Trump to go f*** off, if I want to take Ukraine, guess I will (but we both knew that anyway, thanks for the b.j.) Yeah, gotcha.

    Nice try, bot. Er, dude.

I truly don’t understand why he would have his wife in the group chat texting war plans

Wtf does she know about Yemen or a Houthi?

Lemme guess, another “accident” or mistake?

and to be doing this on his personal phone…

We’re supposed to believe that his wife has a secure phone when she’s getting war plan texts in between texts from her mom and 1 of the girlfriends for a ladies night out?

international governments are having a field day with these incompetent buffoons

This is alcoholic behavior. I can’t see why else he’d make this random chat with his wife/brother/lawyer.

Before I stopped drinking I’d do weird stuff like this. Luckily I didn’t have access to classified information.

The alcoholic abusive behavior shows up on his truly sad interviews where gets all frantic and combative.

What the signal chats show me though is his insecurity. He knows he’s out of his league with his position and the generals under him are way above his weight and when they fill him in on this kind of stuff because they now have to he is bragging to his friends like a child would to show desperately that he is what he is not.. which is a true military leader.

If you have to brag you are most likely insecure. It’s that simple.

Dude is a trainwreck which ever way you look at it.

At best, bringing his fam into highly sensitive classified work acts as his support group for a mentally fragile man with documented substance abuse issues.

At worst (maybe both), they act as his influence peddling proxies.

Ofc, there's always a non zero chance the former morphs into the latter.

Report: Hegseth used Signal Desktop App on Pentagon "Dirty Line"

So not only did he text out war plans to journalists

    AND ALSO

Set up a separate friends & family war plan chat

    BUT ALSO

Had a random Comcast Xfinity or whatever line put in TO THE ****IN PENTAGON so that he could text our war plans from his laptop

At what point do we stop taking about whether or not this drunk resigns in disgrace but instead whether he spends the rest of his life at Leavenworth for treason? Because that's really what it is right now.

I guess he's not rich enough to buy a pardon - what a ****ing disgrace

**** all you dumbasses who voted for this - it's on you, you own this ****, you idiots

The Pentagon was warning, before these chats were even written, that Signal is likely compromised by other intelligence agencies including Russia’s and that these platforms should not be considered secure despite being billed as end to end encryption.

Oh hey, nothing to see here, just Whiskey Pete's unsecured cell phonewhere he texts the war plans to his friends & family showing up on 4th tier sports betting sites

    https://www.nytimes.com/2025/04/25/us/politics/pete-hegseth-phone-signal.html

On Aug. 15, 2024, he used his personal phone number to join Sleeper.com, a fantasy football and sports betting site, using the username “PeteHegseth.” Less than two weeks later, a phone number associated with his wife, Jennifer, also joined the site. She was included in one of the two Signal chats about the strikes.s
Mr. Hegseth also left other digital breadcrumbs, using his phone to register for Airbnb and Microsoft Teams, a video and communications program.

Mr. Hegseth’s number is also linked to an email address that is in turn linked to a Google Maps profile. Mr. Hegseth’s reviews on Google Maps include endorsements of a dentist (“The staff is amazing”), a plumber (“Fast, honest, and quality work”), a mural painter (“Painted 2 beautiful flags for us — spot on”) and other businesses. (Google Maps street view blurs out Mr. Hegseth’s former home.)

“If you use your phone for just ordinary daily activities, you are leaving a highly, highly visible digital pathway that even a moderately sophisticated person, let alone a nefarious actor, can follow,” said Glenn S. Gerstell, a former general counsel for the National Security Agency.

OH MY GOD he left reviews on Google last Summer! Seriously, how is this a story? Or is Sam just raging about every Pete Hegseth tidbit he can find? Hegseth wasn't even SecDef yet when he used Airbnb, Teams, or left the Google reviews. What exactly is the big deal here?

Liberals are desperate to manufacture some controversy. A Google review! He must resign! LOL, what a joke these rage-filled people are.

    GOOD DAY

with Signal-gate still fresh in our memories,

Trump 2.0's DUI-hire has just ended Pentagon’s “Women, Peace and Security” program,
blaming the measure on former President Joe Biden and describing it as a distraction from the Department of Defense’s mission.
    https://www.baltimoresun.com/2025/0...nd-security-program-signed-into-law-by-trump/

what the habitual drunk forgets is that
    • the program was signed into law by Trump 1.0 in 2017
      • Christi Noem, the current Secretary of Homeland Security authored the bill in the House
      • Marco Rubio, the current Secretary of State, co-sponsored it in the Senate

    Hegseth needs a sobriety check!
