The Alp - Adams - JaBari lineup were doing fantastic until he pulled them out with like 3 minutes to go and That was when we lost this game Rocket River
YES! That Triple Big lineup (Alpi-Adams-Jabari) needs to be used more often with the Warriors. Those three are 6'11" (Alpi-Adams) and 6'10" (Jabari). The only guys in the Warriors starting lineup taller than 6'5" are Draymond (6'6") and Butler (6'7"). They'll bring in Looney (6'9") off the bench at times. The only truly tall guy they have is Post (7'), who's a freaking rookie. They're just not a tall team at all. Adding Jabari to the Double Big lineup gives us another guy to tower over them, plus he can defend any 3/4/5 on the perimeter. On offense, he's got a decent 3-point shot, a decent midrange, and is a solid rebounder who can clean up misses inside on occasion. Playing those 3 bigs probably wouldn't work against most teams, but it sure was frustrating the f$%k out of Golden State last night in the 4th until Ime moved away from it.
Heck naw to Cam in this series vs Warriors...he's a ball chucker who's basketball is lower than Jalen Green. I would put Reed in the game before Cam...at least Reed will make the right read/play. At this juncture, Reed is just a defensive liability in his Rookie season.
I'm looking at NY vs Det and both coaches have extended their benches.....EVEN TOM THIBIDEAUX. Going with eight players is ridiculous when you have that much talent. Why have it when you won't use it
Sitting Jalen might crush the rest of his confidence. Jalen is getting paid 30+ million a year. Its not crazy to expect our players to have some responsibility for their performance. Blaming Ime just seems cheap. If you watched the game we missed a ton of wide open shots and the warriors packed the paint just daring FVV JG and others to shoot midrange/threes.
If we're still having trouble scoring, give Cam a try. He is the only one who can create his own shot with his physicality. Dude maybe the X-factor in this series.
Exactly the two points I was going to make. The big mistake was in ignoring Sengun in the 4th quarter. That was coaching malpractice. I think some Cam minutes would have made sense last night as well. Jalen was in the midst of a terrible game. 4 minutes of Whitmore would have been an interesting attempt at a solution. The other fault is with Rafael Stone for not using our expiring contracts at the deadline to bring in someone who can take and make shots. Cam Johnson would have helped this roster last night. Jose Alvarado would have helped last night.
Reed Shephard is both a defensive and offensive liability this season. He is the correct answer to nothing in this playoffs. Aaron Holiday is just a much better player at this point. Hopefully, Reed improves a lot over the summer.
This. When I saw Stone do nothing, I knew he wasn't the GM to take us to the promised land. He is good for a rebuilding team, but that's not what we are anymore.
Jalen & Fred are averaging around 20% shooting against Warriors this season. This is their average game. Ime has the right to sit horrible players.
Cam really should have been given more of an opportunity all year if we are just looking at it from a basketball perspective. Literally the only thing Jalen does better than Cam is he gets more assists per minutes played...But it's not a whole lot more because it's not like Jalen is some master creator either. Statistically, Cam is also a slightly better defender as well. This is from the past two years. Even shooting less free throws and at a lower percentage Cam still has a higher TS%.
The thing about the tripple big with Bari in the 4th quarter. Bari started figuring it out and he was was attacking using his size, taking it into the lane for contested layups and making them. One play i loved was when Bari got the switch on Pods, attacked the lane, Curry was the help defender and couldnt do **** as Bari went for the contested layup. There was NOTHING they could do but Ime decides to take him out in favor of Jalen who couldnt even shake Curry. Worst mistake, cost us the game.
No X-factor under Ime coaching. He will kill those possibilities. He cares nothing but defense. Stop Warriors from getting any points. Lol
Actually, his 3pt shooting would help us, but yes he's a defensive liability. Also, Reed has a high basketball IQ...don't underestimate what he could do offensively for our starters.
It's just downright bad coaching to not spend at least the next couple of minutes going flat out at Draymond every possession, after he picked up his first foul the first play of the game.
