Thought Jalen Green was the Second coming of black Jesus?

Even Jeremy Lin played much better than this Jalen.

 

I am not happy with his performance but will give him the rest of the playoffs before condemning him. Of course if he continues to play like he did last night the rest of the playoffs will not be long.

 

Who would even argue that? Ant is several levels above Jalen as a player.

 

That's an insult to Lin.

 

He will score one 30 point game and 8 three pointers and all his fans are back in frenzy.

This Jalen religious group is going places.

 

Let's give him until the end of the playoffs before we declare him awful.

He's improved a lot this season and has become a decent starter. He was awful 2 years ago but the 2024-2025 version is a useful player. He has had exactly one bad playoff game. Let's see if he can redeem himself before we quit on him.

 

Jalen playing with 3-4 non-shooters is never going to be a long term recipe for success. And yes, at this point Fred is classified as a "non-shooter". I have zero confidence when he has an open 3.

 

I want to say "I can't believe how happy and excited all these 'fans' are to trash this kid after his first playoff game against a top tier defense," but honestly, I'm not surprised. I feel so bad for some of yall.

 

I’m a Jater. I’ll admit it. But GSW is a great defensive team. I’m not an expert on schemes but it seems like they said decided to fade Alpi single coverage and prevent any other Rocket from getting to the rim. I was also a little drunk so my memory might be deceiving me. If this is the case then this loss is on Ime. Who I love btw. No homo.

I still believe in Jalen, even if he flames out this series. Let's see how he adjusts from playoff intensity, then let's see next year if he improves. If he doesn't produce next year, then yeah, maybe it is time to accept he will not reach his potential.

I think Jalen was so bad in the past that this year has looked like a revelation even though he's still not a good player overall.




This is a list sorted by TS% of guys who:

1) logged minutes at guard
2) Played at least 50 games
3) averaged at least 25 mins per game

There are 62 players who fit that criteria.

This is a screen shot of the bottom of that list. Fred is ranked 61, Jalen is ranked 55. Both in the bottom 10.

Jalen had the highest usage on our team this year. So that means that our offense was largely in the hands of one of the least efficient, low assist players in the league. This is a MAJOR reason why we have been so bad offensively. The Rockets will never have a good offense with Jalen being this level of player and having the highest usage on the team. It's not happening.

Now, this doesn't mean that he won't explode and get you a ton of points in a game here and there...But overall, looking at the entire body of work the offense with him running it will never be good enough.

Even if you look at last year...It took an otherworldly out of body stretch for him just to get back up to his below average numbers he ended up with for the year.

And despite all of this, the Rockets still ended up with a remarkable season. They still got the #2 seed in a loaded west.
Which goes to show that if you replace Jalen and/or Fred with a more competent player (assuming the fit is right) this is absolutely a team that can compete for a title and be up there with the Thunder. But we are playing with one hand tied behind our backs, especially in the playoffs where weaknesses get magnified.

 

That is still who Jalen is........ 30 games below average player ----- 15-20 game stretch All NBA player.

A 40 point game, a few single digit games, a few 25 pointers - getting benched here and there.

 

terrible fans. Its like they wait for an opening or opportunity to pounce once he has an off night but they shut the fuc$ up when he willed this team to wins. Ungrateful assholes is what they are and it’s a shame. Everyone is entitled to an opinion though.
