This is going to be a tough series. If they can score 15+ runs w/ at least 4 in each game I will be hopeful. Winning 2 out of 3 would be great, but at this point I just want to see some life from the offense.
I know that Chas was MVP level vs LHP prior to 2024, but he was worse vs LHP than RHP (.550 vs .590) last year and has done nothing yet this year to show that he has recovered. I agree that he hasn't had the opportunity, but we are no longer at the point where it is beyond question that Chas is better than the other options. Who would you sit, so he can play? Rodgers? Better vs LHP than RHP .836 vs .677 career. Meyers? .742 vs .630 carrer, .758 last year which is .208 better than Chas was. Face it, this particular lineup does not have any player who is a weak link that would ne better by substituting Chas
side note. I do some recording and my sound engineer/co producer is/was a roadie for the Monkees. He did a few last year with last one standing. (Also the B52s - he's in Vegas with them now).
The Chas hate always shows with you. He had like 245 at bats last year. He was battling injury too. Therefore, it wasn’t that long ago that he was smashing LHP’s. If Espada wants to get a potential .800 plus OPS guy going, in our weak OF, it would be nice if he at least played him to his strengths. Don’t act like Brandon Rodgers is too valuable to take a seat.
The Chas love always shows with you. There is no hate. Disagreeing with you is not hate. All I'm saying is that leaving Chas out of the lineup VS ANYONE right now is perfectly defensible and that Chas' history of success vs LHP is in the past. There is no current reason why this team would be better with Chas in the lineup. And as I said, maybe that's not fair because he isn't getting any chances to regain it. But fair or not, it's fact. For now. And you are right, Rodgers is not too good to take a seat. But based on current and recent results, he is a much getter choice to win a game today.
Look up Chas’ ops vs LHP in his last healthy season, 2023. That was only like 260 injury plagued at bats ago. It’s really not too far “in the past”.
It was 2023 Dusty Baker was the manager Corey Julkes started the most games in LF Brandon Bielak started the 5th most games It was an eternity ago. But even you can't be so obtuse as to think he is good right now, TODAY because he was good in 2023 and has been ass ever since, regardless of the excuses why.
2023 1) 1.009 in 138 PAs 2) .785 in 79 PAs 3) .672 in 56 PAs 2024 1) .550 in 89 PAs 2) .758 in 146 PAs 3) .819 in 144 PAs If you didn't look at the names, which of those 3 are you sitting?
I have a good friend that is a journeyman HVAC tech, he serviced his HVAC system for years at his personal residence in Ft Worth before he passed. He only ran into him on site a few times and said he was the nicest person ever.
