I laughed when he talked about people over here waving flags probably made in China all that MAGA America 1st gear produced in China sweatshop with a 50x markup
The exporting of jobs was not done intentionally, it was simply a matter of math. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Triffin_dilemma
you're the type of people who make jokes at funerals. you already have a brainrot thread about tony from lc sign. go post there.
It was a choice American leadership made. They knew pretty early on what it would do to US manufacturing.
The issue is instead of taking all that free stuff we got from the rest of the world and reinvesting in critical industries, we wasted it tax cuts. We could have subsidized industries like chips and robotics to maintain our manufacturing capabilities. Ironically Telsa and SpaceX are perfect example of this working. Obama made Musk.
Tax cuts, forever wars, and 300 newly minted billionaires since 2010. https://www.statista.com/statistics/220093/number-of-billionaires-in-the-united-states/ Foreign direct investment into stocks, real estate and treasuries shouldn't count towards Makin Murca Great
AI is going to "export" jobs 100x more at 1/100 the time span. You can't control "export" of jobs. Doing so is as futile as trying to preserve agricultural employment during the Industrial Revolution. You have a much better chance at controlling what you do with the wealth produced.
I think there's a difference between the follies of our middle eastern/Afghanistan adventures vs the more peer level threat of the illiberal alliance of convenience by China/Russia/Iran/NK. Forever wars and neoliberalism are just soundbites that are losing their meaning.
In the age of globalization, further accentuated by the Petrodollar Agreement—-leading to the US dollar being the de facto global reserve—-the math [for your scenario] doesn’t work
I don’t know if it’s true but I heard Rob Schneider drives to Home Depot to pay migrants to choke him in the shower. @KingCheetah
