A 17-year-old in Wisconsin allegedly killed his parents as part of a plot to assassinate Trump, FBI says 17-year-old Nikita Casap is charged in the deaths of his mother and stepfather after he was arrested back in March when he fled the state. Now, as part of that homicide investigation, a search warrant filed with the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Wisconsin has been unsealed, outlining what was found on Casap's cellphone and other electronic devices. The warrant reveals that during their search, investigators found material on his phone in regard to "The Order of Nine Angles", an extremist neo-Nazi group. Furthermore, investigators reviewed images and communications that referenced a self-described manifesto regarding assassinating the President, making bombs, and terrorist attacks. The warrant refers to "calling for the assassination of the President of the United States in order to foment a political revolution in the United States and "save the white races" from "Jewish controlled" politicians."" The document also contained images of Adolf Hitler with text "HAIL HITLER HAIL THE WHITE RACE HAIL VICTORY". In an excerpt from the three-page manifesto, Casap specifies why he would go after the President. "As to why, specifically Trump, I think it's obvious. By getting rid of the president and perhaps the vice president, that is guaranteed to bring in some chaos and not only that, but it will further bring into the public the idea that assassinations and accelerating the collapse are possible things to do." The document goes on to say that Casap also paid for, at least in part, a drone and explosives to be used as a weapon of mass destruction to commit an attack. And that the killing of his parents "appeared to be an effort to obtain the financial means and autonomy necessary to carrying out his plan." You can read the full warrant here, including Casap's intentions of escaping overseas to Ukraine. Casap last appeared in court on April 9, where he was bound over for trial. He currently faces two counts of first-degree intentional homicide and seven other felony charges including hiding a corpse and identity theft. Casap is due back in court on May 7 for an arraignment. He is currently in custody on a $1 million bond.
Kid was thinking so far in advance that he secured lifetime jail sentence in order to get free mental healthcare. A bright future ahead of him...
it’s scary when u think about it Instead of thinking about sports, girls, games, parties, college etc a 17 y/o is thinking about saving the white race and Hitler.
To be fair, people were white supremacists, committing terrorist attacks, murdering parents, and killing presidents way before social media.
That is so 1970s. Call him crazy and drop him off at the closest homeless encampment. What could go wrong?
Did they have people on an easily accessible to everyone media forum promoting hate and literally encouraging them to commit atrocious crimes?
Well can we assume that this mentally ill guy was employing his moronic 2nd Amendment Rights as interpreted by the morons on the S. Ct.
Look up Timothy McVeigh's story as well. This is an on-going problem we have with far right's neo-nazi ideology. It's similar to the ideology of terrorist organizations like ISIS as well where there's excitement for a war that they are more than willing to kill anyone in order to get to that prophesied moment in time. I don't think today's youth are much different than they were years ago, but I do think that the internet has certainly assisted in expediting radicalization. Not sure what the solution is. We are not going to be able to regulate the internet and social media in any way now that world's governments are themselves pushing more and more radicalization themselves vs pushing for more academic, and critical thinking forums of online community and thought. -Less academic emphasis and attacking education -Policies that are designed to lower the standard of living -Less regulation for hate speech by social media companies, and them being in the pockets of far right politicians -Promotion of far right content, forums, and community under the guise of "free speech" while limiting access to critical thinking forums -Promotion of guns, and making access easier than ever for anyone -Promotion of division. Having world leaders refer to half of their own population as "enemies within". -Demonizing people of color or "others" in minority classes .... Yes... it's only going to get worse from here on out with this kind of stuff, but it's not necessarily new with this younger generation.
That was my thought. Same as it ever was. Its not like the occasional teenager popping off and murdering his parents is a new phenomenon.
No. I wasn't claiming social media doesn't have huge negative psychological consequences, just that people were ****ed up way before the internet. It isn't the problem, but at times can be a contributing factor to good and bad actions.
from today’s school shooter at FSU that killed 2 and injured 6 The suspect in the FSU shooting espoused white supremacist views and was removed from a political club, the group's president, Reid Seybold, said. Seybold said he was part of a club with the suspect at Tallahassee State College, which they both attended before they transferred to FSU. He was president of a club called "political round table," where the suspect was asked not to return after repeated issues with his rhetoric. "Basically our only rule was no Nazis — colloquially speaking — and he espoused so much white supremacist rhetoric, and far-right rhetoric, as well, to the point where we had to exercise that rule," Seybold said. Seybold, now a senior at FSU, was in the Bellamy Building near the Student Union when he and others heard gunshots. "I was texting everybody I love, letting them know that I love them," Seybold told them. "I was, I was getting ready to die."
