I’m more worried about their role players. Kuminga looks like an all star against the Rockets and Hield and Podz generally have good games as well. It’s going to be tougher than most of us believe even without the refs. They match up well against the Rockets and their experience will make up the difference in the playoffs vs our athleticism. It should be a good series and potentially could change the course of the team. Either the Rockets win and this team continues to grow or the summer is going to get real interesting and it’s a shakeup.
I'm interested to see how the cross matchups work in this series. Last time we played, there were times when Udoka had FVV on Draymond and Amen on Steph and it blew up a lot of their actions. It was sort of daring them to try to beat us by posting up Draymond, which they don't wanna do. The double big lineup also helped because if Sengun had to show or trap on a PnR, Stevo could help on their normal actions. In general, the traditional Warriors offense is built to exploit a typical modern NBA defense with 1 big man and 1 good perimeter defender. On offense, I'm not expecting a whole lot from Jalen with the Warriors perimeter defenders. I would more look for him to accept a smaller role and make smart decisions. To me this will show us more about how Sengun and Jabari can use their size effectively (or not). Then, I'd like to see if the vets continue to show good leadership and keep the team focused. People really seem down about this matchup but I like that it's real competition. It's not a team that's clearly below the Rocket's level. So, we'll learn a lot.
That insane. The Association REALLY needs to nix conferences, just let in the top 16 ( or 18, howevs u wanna slice it) squads
It only works one way. Every touch foul was called for the warriors. That's how we lost to them years ago. It's not a fair match.
