Does it have the middle drawer? Either way, it’s the same ice maker. You’re going to have problems with it. I can walk you through maintenance when you need it. I became a damn near master technician on that fridge lol. Hated spending that much money just to have nonstop techs come out and/or buying a new expensive one
It does, it looks really nice but dam it stinks................and my filter change light never goes out even when I change it
My Samsung ice maker froze over so many times. Thankfully they fixed it under recall. But I will never buy a Samsung fridge again. Maybe Frigidaire.
Hoping it stays working for you, I replaced mine twice. Basically their “fix” it worked for a bit but then started doing the same thing again. I went with a specific LG model that had great reviews over the Frigidaire, Bosch, GE and Whirlpools oil models. But we will see how it goes, only had it 3 weeks
I am the only person in my household who uses ice, and because the ice maker has been **** for so long, I've just stuck to using fridge temperature water. For all I know it has already froze over again.
haha nice! my current whirlpool has an ice machine. i don't use it. one less thing that will fail. Just replaced the 50 gal water heater (Bradford White) also. It was 11 years old and didn't want to take a chance on it. Thought about going tankless but it was a 1800 vs 4500 price diff..
I just switched to induction a couple months ago and I really like it. I always thought they were incredible expensive. For the life of me, I don't know why more people do not switch to induction. My personal likes: -It requires higher quality cookware, which leads to a better cooking experience. -I don't have to worry about leaving the burner on. I actually do not turn them off anymore (bad habit now haha) -I have a cooking mat covering the stove top, so no more scratches (baked on spillage isn't a problem either). -Immediate control of temp. -Uses less energy (this really isn't a big deal) Also it seems using gas inside the home is a bad idea. I am not sure of the validity of this statement. Also there seems to be issues with oven temperatures and not being calibrated correctly. Very frustrating. I don't bake much so its not a big problem, but if you're into baking carbs, think twice and DYR. If you do run a 240 line, I would also recommend running a NEMA 14-50 240v line to a desired location for an EV if you dont have one already. As far as other appliances, if it requires a compressor, make sure its not a notorious bad brand. LG makes decent appliances that do not require compressors. Also I dumped my ice box and filtered water option in my fridge. Those things are disgusting. I utilize an under sink RO system for water and GE Profile Opal 2.0 nugget ice maker (big hit with the guests).
Did your LED indicator light that shows if its on Ice, Water, or Crushed die? Mine did and I can't for the life of me figure out how to fix it myself.
How do you like the nugget ice maker? My wife wants me to install one, I was hoping to talk her into the countertop version so I don’t have to install whole new cabinet and water line for the cabinet versions
That it didn’t do, you can take that face off to replace the board behind it though. I had to do it when I replaced the dispenser seals
I absolutely love my Opal 2.0 nugget maker. I have the countertop version (i didn't know they made installed version). My biggest complaint is that it is a bit loud. I usually transfer the ice over to the freezer dispenser to harden the ice, reduce run time/increase life of product, and the noise bothers me. I leave it running if I have over night guests. Im not sure if people realize how disgusting water lines in fridges get over time and its extremely difficult to clean them. The opal lines is relatively easy to clean.
Not sure if it’s same brand but there are quite a few under counter icemakers. Hopefully I can talk the wife into a countertop version, seems easier to maintenance and far less installation work for me.
I got a countertop ice maker for Xmas and that dam thing is awesome, I am the only person in the house so its perfect for a couple of libations after work, it makes the little ice like Sonic, its some off brand I had never heard of. I use only bottled water, but it can be set up to draw water, but I am way to lazy to do that
