I don't make a ton of threads, and this one is a pretty weird one because I don't have a lot of statistics to share, nor do I have any particularly novel thoughts this time around...but in contrast to some of the other absolutely pessimistic takes that people have, I think that

    a.
The Rockets have a solid chance at winning the series and

    b.
our young core absolutely needs to play in a series like this to grow.

Alpi and Jalen both like to play to the crowd, and if our home crowd is raucous and engaged it'll benefit them vastly. Jabari has been proven to be able to hit big shots time and again, and Tari is going to be extra energetic. Amen will destroy any offensive player he is tasked to defend and in my opinion should be the DPOY

We know our veterans will do great. They've proven it. And now it's time for our future stars to shine on the biggest stage!

Let’s put it out there - the Warriors are not an easy matchup. But - some of us Rockets fans still wear the scars from the Harden-era rivalry with this team. We have a different team now - younger, leas experienced but athletic, energetic and determined. Also, let’s not forget that the two wins we had against the Warriors this season were in a crucial games for both teams - the cup’s quarter-finals, and a late season match that boosted us to secure the 2nd place, while Warriors couldn’t avoid Play-in (though they could easily avoid it if they didn’t mess up vs. Spurs).

I hope we win this series, I believe in our guys! And if we don’t - I hope we’ll grow from this in the following seasons.

Let’s go Rockets!! Playoff time is back, really missed it!

Was rooting for the Grizz to pull it out but gotta admit, for a first-time playoff experience for our young core, it actually might be better that they go through an extra level of adversity (whether through unnecessary physicality or through bs officiating) so that in future years, our young core is more mentally prepared for all the crap that they'll likely have to push through and overcome to get a championship. Let this be the standard to which our young core sees playoff basketball from here on out.

I don't expect the Rockets to win a championship this year anyhow - might as well go through the toughest road. Baptism by fire.

It will come down to how fouls are called / not called on Tari, Amen, Sengun, and Brooks. Hopefully everyone keeps their cool, as this team has had more techs than any other team in the NBA, and in the playoffs they call games inconsistently so they need to adjust. If they stay level headed and avoid the techs and extra FTs they have a chance.

The refs almost reffed the warriors (three 4th q phantom fouls in the bonus), and the grizzlies almost out-ran them.

I expect the Rockets to wear down the Warriors, a relatively unathletic and old team, as the series goes on (remember no back-to-backs in the playoffs, so we should maintain fresh legs).

Just gotta stay healthy, watch out for Draymond's extracurricular stuff (i.e. avoid suspensions/ejections), and at least split the first two games at home.

    Houston in 7.

Champions don't pick opponents. If our ultimate goal is a ring, then we will have to beat every other team no matter who comes against us.

I am happy and excited that it turned out to be the Warriors. It will not be an easy series but it is perfect for young players to learn and to grow.

I just hope we won't get bothered by injuries and refs. Let's play fair and I am confident that our young cores can beat them!

Of course this will be a Song of Ice and Fire.......Villain versus Donkey ....Amen vs Jimmy III

GSW has the superior shooting, ball movement and Championship experience

Rockets have Amen, youth, stamina, Defense, physicality and offensive rebounding

Things that offsets this old Warriors team.

The one thing we know for sure is that father time is undefeated. How long this old ass Warriors team (with their overreliance on a few key players) can hold on to their spot as an elite team is up for debate. Our Rockets have a chance to slam the Warriors' door shut--maybe even a little ahead of schedule.

It's going to be a nerve-wracking, intense, and hopefully future-affirming series for us.

I know for a certain fact that Draymond was very close to parting and joining the Grizzlies 1 or 2 years ago.

    (Ironically their opponent the Grizzlies)

I think they are just doing the fans a service and let Steph decide when it is the best time to hang up his shoes.
