This proposal was in 2022, not this trading deadline.

From Brooklyn perspective, I guess they did not see Jaylen as a franchise player and that's likely why they did not make the trade. They likely just wanted a full reset which is why they wanted the picks. It still makes no sense to me, but just trying to speculate why they would turn down that offer.

Got it. That makes way more sense.

The Phoenix deal was better in the long term. Brown and White would have burnt up a lot of value on mediocre playoff teams without much avenue to improve. The Nets are taking their lumps, but they've got a better chance going forward. I think Boston offering that is crazy. I just always assumed Phoenix way way outbid everyone. If Boston offered that, the short-term boost would have been hard to turn down.

Actually though, thinking about it--if Boston wanted out of Brown's supermax deal, trading him for KD would be a reasonable way to do it that doesn't hurt their short term championship chances (in theory, if KD doesn't get hurt or have a massive decline).

He doesn't want to go back to GS.

SA's timeline probably isn't commensurate with KD. Besides, I'm not sure about Wembys health.

The Knicks would have to give up too much of their preexisting team. And, they spent all their first rounders on Bridges.

    Miami isn't a contender.

Same as NY for Minny. Not enough in the cupboard to procure more.

    +120 huh

    That's pretty strong.

Windhorst basically made it sound like a salary dump on air. Not thinking we’d give up much.

We cant take on that much salary though. Also it might hamper the continued development of Jalen Jabari Amen and Alpi.

I’m gonna be pissed if we give up part of our core players…

My main issue with KD is his health. due to the pace and intensity of the NBA games now players are breaking down left and right even our team which has mostly young 20 yr olds suffered injuries.

KD is not mr glass but ever since he got old he always has had multiple injuries every season, including some freak stuff like getting an ACL tear during warmups. Just recently he stepped on Jabari's foot and is out for the season lol.

I dont wanna trade for him only for him to be out multiple months due to an ankle or w/e. Something that sets back Amen or Jabari 3 weeks is gonna be 3 mos recovery for KD.

I know posters here can only think of the optimal state but lets be real KD has been injured almost every time he went to the playoffs since the Nets. He isnt gonna get healthier with age, quite the opposite in fact.

I've never heard any legit rumors that Houston has any real interest in Durant. I'm not really sure who is driving fake narratives like this, but its kind of dumb if only because teams have been using Houston as fictional leverage for years.

With Booker and Beal, I don’t think the Suns would prefer Jalen for Durant. Too much redundancy on their roster.
