since 2029 is 2 for 1, I call that a FRP + Swap, so 5 FRP and 2 Swaps Not just 5 FRPs and 2 Swaps, but likely 6 lottery picks plus #17 Tari !!
Assuming his health gets back on track, Tari alone just makes this trade so solid already. That dude could start for a lot of teams. Lottery-level talent for sure
Hoping for the 9th, expecting the 10th. It reminds me of many years ago. Burt Reynolds was on Carson (I believe) to promote "City Heat", in which he co-starred with Clint Eastwood (crap movie, but anyway). Eastwood had top billing (i.e., "starring (1) Clint Eastwood and (2) Burt Reynolds". Carson: "How did you two decide who gets top billing?" Reynolds: "We flipped for it.......And I landed on my back." (audience laughter) I fear we'll land on our back, but fingers crossed.
As someone pointed out. The rockets won the coin flip with the Spurs and then from that position they got Wemby. Regardless it should be a nice chance for a role player out of the draft in a position of need.
lol. Who in their right mind takes this job now? Still 4yrs/$40 mil left on the contract. What a train wreck of an organization.
Monty Williams Frank Vogel Mike Budenholzer” YOU will coach this broken down roster that the previous 3 coaches couldn’t “fix” YOU will fix them in one season or YOU will be fired YOU will also walk away with a nice day. “Budenholzer had issues connecting with the locker room this season, with team officials concluding that the roster failed to respond to the 2021 NBA championship coach, sources said. Budenholzer's inability to coexist with his players centered around the franchise's cornerstone, Devin Booker, and went down the roster, those sources said.”
I'd prefer to draft the best player available, according to our scouts. Some of the guys in our range may have star potential, like Jakucionis, who reminds me of Luka. Maluach is probably a 2 year project, but he could be a DPOY candidate.
im hoping to trade the pick if it ends up in the 9-10 range. I’m much more interested in the 2026 draft and we currently don’t have a pick. I’m skeptical that whomever we draft this year can get on the court for this team. But I feel like our draft track record has been pretty good.
I don't understand why people continue to perpetuate the idea of PHX getting their picks back from the Rockets and being able to tank. The Rockets own their picks in 25,27,29 Washington owns their picks in 26,28,30 Utah owns their 2031 pick. Explain the logic? Are they just going to suck every other year? .... I don't think it works like that.
"We will never, ever, ever trade Devin Booker. He's our centerp---" 11th place in the West. "We're looking at all options." I've seen some doucher sports blogger types with their proposed Houston-Phoenix trades. Uh, Jalen Green + Jabari Smith + cap filling players + Phoenix 1st round picks returned. Uh, no.
