Aside from the obvious ref jobs coming against us, the real reason I didn't want the Warriors is because I hate those 9:30 start times during the work week :/
If you are counting on our worst starter to be the difference maker against their best player, you are doing it wrong. The bigger question is will Green and Alp show up? We need both of them to avg 30ppg to win this series. If the Rockets lose, it won't be because FVV only scored 8pts. It'll be because Green only scored 15pts or Alp fouled out and/or shot 50% from the FT line. WHEN the Rockets play and defeat the Golden chumps, it will be the start of a new legacy of Jalen Green going nuclear in the playoffs. It'll be when Amen embarrasses Curry by pulling his spinal cord out with insane blocks. It might even be when Dillon Brooks gets the better of Draymond after Green officially loses his Ish and we watch him jump his own shark. You heard it here first. I think we match up better against Memphis ...but there would be nothing sweeter than dismantling GS.
The Rockets just don't have any big names yet. Yeah, probably not even as big as Cade. Give us one solid playoff run this year, and this graphic will require an update next year.
Still feels like at least Alpi should have made it given he was an all-star on the #2 seed, but yeah, it's whatever. Our young guys need to bring it up to the next level to earn some "star player" respect. My money is on Amen making All-Star, All-NBA next season and being recognized as a budding superstar at the level Ant was last season.
30ppg for Alpi and Jalen is a big ask. I think we just need to keep cooking the recipe that got us here: defense, offensive rebounding, and letting the hot hand cook when they're hot. If 6 of our players avg double digit points (with the 30 pt games coming from whoever) for the series I think we win. The x factor is going to be free throws. If Jalen and Alpi are being aggressive they should being getting plenty of free throws. The question is, will they make them? I'm ready for the GSW to finally retire. I hate those guys
It IS a big ask. But virtually every championship team has that player. Point being, if one of the guys don't step up, it won't be FVV's fault. But I'm sure folks around here will continue to see Harden scoring 30ppg and blame FVV. Folks around here even blame FVV when the Rockets win. lol But maybe I should revise that and say at least one of Jalen or Alp needs to avg ~30ppg. The other one needs to probably avg ~8-10apg. Funny enough, I don't know which one as both players can do either. And Amen needs to do everything else; board, steel, block, deflect plus assist and score. Playoff success lies with Jalen and Alp.
Bring on GS and the zebras. We'll cut off the head of the snake. Not worried about those bastards in the least. Same goes for Memphis... Even without a shotblocker and upgrades in the backcourt, we're gonna shock a lot of people.
I agree to a certain extent...we shouldn't lose our identity, which is win by committee. However, we'll need either Jalen or Alpi to be our anchor in the 4th. We can't afford them to pull a houdini in the 4th of the playoffs. Actually, the Warriors will be a great matchup for us. If we contain Curry, it will put pressure on Jimmy to go into "Playoff Jimmy" which his best years may be behind us. Either way, this playoffs will give us certainty on which moves we'll need to make to build a championship team! Let good times roll!!!
Yup, out of any team not named OKC, the Rockets struggle the most with GSW. It's perfect. Bring. It. On
Indeed... our best case is probably getting bounced in the WCF this season anyway Imagine this team with Flagg--and trading one or more of our forwards for an upgrade elsewhere, to create minutes for him. We'd be in at least as good of a spot as OKC is right now.
So game 1 is now on Sunday? It said it was going to be Saturday but just saw on StubHub it changed. I’m not sure if stub hub is accurate
If it were that easy, for equality he has to gift wrap at least a Top 3 pick to every minor market......
