Altuve's BA has dropped from .357 to .302 over the past 5 games.

When do yall get to complain about him?

To take away the security blanket and force the lineup changes?

His issues are no longer considered “new”. And somebody has unlocked something in the scouting report that is making him incompatible with the Astros approach or there’s something else. This has gone beyond just an injury issue, a work ethic issue, a manager dislike issue. They’re paying him $5 million dollars this year for what?

Whatever happened first (either something in the clubhouse vs. something in the metrics), he just is a shell of his “peak”… which is what happens to some players…. But he gets paid well and either can play or he can’t.

"Shoot for the stars, hit the moon"

    .357 isn't sustainable, so .302 is fine

Altuve at .280 is acceptable if other guys are hitting. Astros have more guys hitting over past 5 games.

Dubon has value with his defensive versatility -- but he's a 90 GP (30 of those being a late-game defensive replacement) bench player.

His current 110 GP pace as a starter is lunacy and dusty.

If Rodgers is healthy, there should be no reason Dubon should get any reps at 2nd base. Altuve should be giving him the days off.

Maybe... Astros' roster is a conundrum

Altuve is below average at 2nd (and OF) -- but playing 2B would give Dezenzo and Chas more opportunity in the outfield.

Yordan's health basically ties him to DH-only, so there's not much flexibility for below average defenders who can hit.

Why would you want Chas and Dezenzo in the outfield if Rodgers hits better than both?

Can we at least confirm if Chas sucks before Espada buries his ass? That's all I'm asking for really.

Rodgers is our starter at 2nd base. Not sure what that has to do with Chas and Dezenzo in the outfield.

If Rodgers is hurt and Altuve plays 2B, it gives Dezenzo and Chas more games in the outfield. I was going off your suggestion of Altuve substituting Rogers at 2B instead of Dubon.

Btw, Rodgers > Chas as a hitter is suspect.

Did you even read the post I was replying to? He was talking about moving Altuve back to 2nd base so Dezenzo and Chas could play more. I'm like why if Rodgers proves that he can hit at sea level which looks like he can.
