Similar to Robert Horry.....I think it's Jabari. In the 1st Rnd if we play Minny, Sac or the Grizz, it has to be Alpi. Alpi has to outplay Gobert, Sabonis or Edey, which I think he can. But I think what might be bigger is, can Jabari out play the secondary bigs; JJJ, Naz Reed or Keigan Murray? Those players are what make their team go. We will need a big series from Jabari. In the 2nd Rnd if we play the Lakers or GSW, it ESPECIALLY has to be Jabari. Both of these teams are going to want to spread the floor, which will take Sengun out of the game. Jabari is quick enough to recover on defense to take away 3pt shots, yet he can block shots, rebound and shoot 3's. If he does this, we can make it to the next rnd. Additionally, Jalen would have to be big in this round too, to negate the scoring of LeBron, Luka or Curry. In the Conf Finals, I think its going to be OKC. If that's the case and we are good enough to get here, it has to be Jabari, Jalen and Alpi. Alpi has to be BIG in the paint, Jabari has to out play Chet and Jalen has to score. I think if Jabari can show up in all 3 rnds, we can go deep in the Playoffs.
I think it'd be a very good time for Jalen to go on one of his monster scoring runs. If he does and the rest of the team plays at their proper level we actually are contenders.
First playoff experience for our young guys so we'll see. You guys know how some players become big time during playoffs and some players shrink. Logistically everything OP says, I can follow but it's all very unknown. For all we know, JG might revert to his first few years self where he's super inefficient and has terrible body language. Jabari might pop and have monster games. Amen's lack of 3 point shooting might be targeted on every play. They might hack a shaq Adams out of games and no offensive rebounding for us. Tate might completely Tate throw away our games. Holiday might try to be the hero and shoot Curry range 3 pointers. I know that all sounds super cynical but we just odn't know what's gonna happen yet.
FVV. If he doesn’t show up offensively we’re going to loose. Teams will seek him out on the defensive end and Ime won’t bench him.
We’ll need peak Jalen to advance in the playoffs. And we’ll also need Fred to knock down open shots. Our backcourt is the question. If the backcourt performs well in the playoffs, we will be in the western conference finals. But if Fred continues to play like he has this season, and Jalen slumps, we’re in big trouble. Im optimistic that Fred will shoot better and Jalen will continue his excellent play. I really do think Jalen turned the corner this yr.
I think Jalen and Sengun will be fine, around 19-25 PPG, so I like to see indeed who steps up. Amen is going to do his thing regardless, but I’d say it needs to be two guys: one of FVV and Brooks and one of Jabari and Tari need to be THAT guy. Making shots at a high clip, being steady, cold blooded, get stops on defense, rebounds / assists.
They all need to step up. Everyone needs to level up. Putting it all on one guys is just lazy, we dont have a superstar everybody needs to carry their own weight.
