1-3-1 zone is a gambling defense that often uses a 3/4 court press and trapping with the wings. It also allows for a lot of open 3's at the wings and corners. And the high post can pass out to the corners. 1-3-1 requires a lot of running around especially the last guy who has to cover the entire baseline and corners. This isn't feasible considering a 7 game series. Teams would simply move the ball to the high post or do a lot of cross court passes or skip passes for wide open 3's or dribble drive from the wings.

Going to be interesting to see how the double big lineup perform against a team with a phenomenal 3PT shooter and a team that likes to have two sharpshooters in the lineup at all times.

sure hope Jabari plays. He is essential to our perimeter defense.

This is one of the teams you don't deploy the XL lineup.

If Bari could add some mass this offseason he has the length to be the second big to Alpi in a double big line up next season.

Kerr went with his own double big to counter. Green and Looney. But there was no counter.

You might be right. I haven't seen much of that aspect to Jock's game. I know he was supposed to be a bit more of a "stretch" but it didn't work out this year. I saw in the beginning of the year he wanted to step out and shoot 3s.

This is interesting, Adams and Sengun are so strong they have to double team them for box outs or they will instantly give up second chance points.

Adams can be seen ragdolling one one-on-one lineups in the video, so far modern era lighter PFs are a major weakness with this traditional lineup ironically.

I would just jack up the first available 3 against this lineup. Nightmare fuel for an offense.

Those two are bullying the bully. Draymond is being embarrassed by this lineup.

I'm shocked at how well the Rockets' double-big lineup performed against this team.

FVV's comment that half the time they don't know what the hell the double-big lineup defense is doing is both hilarious and amazing. It's like they're not running a set defense at all, just adjusting on the fly to whatever the offense throws at them. You’ve got to have very smart, instinctive defenders to pull that off.
