When the worst person you know just made a great point...

 

Yeah, I can't hate too much on Steph like others. I honestly think he's a good dude that's on an evil team. lol. Draymond, on the other hand, I wouldn't trust at all. I think he's just trying to prep the Warriors to steal the Rockets players when he and Steph get old. It's even worse-sounding when you consider Amen is from the Bay Area.

 

But Amen hates the Warriors and has since he was a kid, so we are good.

 

Every time you don't think you can hate Steph enough just remember his little gremlin face shimmying side to side with his mouthguard sticking out and every time his refs missed a call for us or gave a shitty one to them. Remember every cocky stare, it's important for the universe that Rockets fans hate that little ****er.

 

Yeah - same. It's more about what Steph represents - by all accounts he is a perfectly fine person if maybe a little corny. I never liked the way the media went overboard praising him and the Warriors....I never the like the way they celebrated on people with stacked teams either. I also never liked the way the conversation about his popularity vs Lebron's had the subtext of race and proximity to whiteness that people always tiptoed around. Let's face it - Steph is closer to the suburban white kids who grew up hanging out on a country club golf course than Lebron would ever be and a lot of his broad appeal and marketability was based on that and it never sat right with me given we were watching Lebron be the heir apparent to the GOAT Michael Jordan and while Steph was just another HOFer - he was somehow more popular and more marketable than the greatest player since Jordan.

Yeah, but he wasn't a Warriors fan because he was a Lebron fan. He didn't hate the Warriors players. I think most of his family were Warriors fans, though, from what I recall reading.

 

We need a Jedi master to teach him how not to be lured to the dark side.

 

Watching a bit of the pistons bucks game and it's striking how much better Amen is than Ausar

Very good article. I do think that we will need somebody that scores a little bit more long-term, but I think we can certainly build around this unique player. The scorer can be the 1B.
