i see what you are saying but I disagree. As great as players shoot in college that needs to translate into the NBA game. This isn’t college anymore or g league or OTE. They aren’t getting paid or playing time for not making their shots. Shooting 3’s in the NBA isn’t that different from NCAA. We’re talking 1 ft 8 inches. These guys are shooting at NBA ranges already in college. I assume he said Reed was shooting worse than Castle at the time.

    Castle shot:
    DEC .209
    FEB .310

Glad to see Reed and Cam get some run before the playoffs. I'm not too concerned about a bad pass here or a missed assignment there, they're both 20 and still maturing in every way. Hell, you can nitpick the same things with everyone of our guys because no player is perfect and they all do bone headed stuff sometimes.

As some others have said, I'm really excited about our future and that includes seeing how we do in the playoffs. I doubt Reed or Cam get much of an opportunity after Sunday, but you never know in sports who will rise and who will fall. Let's end with a win against Nuggies!

He simply doesn't understand the difference between "shot a worse percentage for a stretch of time" vs. "being a worse shooter," and therefore equate the two as somehow being equal. Either that or he's purposely being disingenuous because he's a Spurs fan. Actually I wonder if we do have a lot of Spurs fans on this board, given how weirdly hyped up Castle is here. The guy is putting up basically KPJ stat in his first year in Houston, at the same age, as the #4 pick instead of a former 30th pick.

Not the point. The discussion was whether they deserve more playing time now in the playoffs. Also it’s not nitpicking. While everyone makes mistakes its the type, consistency, and frequency of mistakes especially in critical situations where those mistakes can’t happen. The game is certainly about details as any coach can tell you and right now they simply aren’t there yet. Period. If they continue to work and learn they will find success and hopefully part of the rotation.

Fred always had a bigger build. He was the same around 195-200 in college. Also played tough annoying D in college. Not saying Reed can’t be a good defender but these are different players in terms of style, skills, build.

He has plenty of things to work on. I get fans are excited and optimistic and they want this guy to succeed. But a long hard way to go for him. Hopefully he progresses.

Ant man is actually very good. He also has made more than 300 3’s this year. Would love to trade for him

I think he’s not a winner but that’s not the point. Fans love to gas and hype up players. Haven’t seen this much excitement for a player since Ant Man lol

I get accused of “gasing up” or being a jokic stan or whatever. It’s totally different with legit stars vs a rookie who has been completely awful like castle. He’s been worse than rookie jalen for crying out loud.

I just said the hype reminds me of how fans here love or gas up Ant Man. Nothing more nothing less.

Williams was taking all the shots and it was frustrating that he was relegated to a spot up shooter in the corners where he could not even touch the ball. The ball moves well when he is the PG but I wonder why Ime is not making him do it more regularly. Yes, he had some bad passes but those were rookie mistakes. The starters have worse turnovers and lazy passes while they have had years to know better. Even Cam played better team ball and had a great scoring night, unlike Williams who just fired away whenever he got the ball.

At least Rockets fans have enough brains to gas up a player who made 2nd team All-NBA, 2 All-Star teams, and took his team to the conference finals by age 22.

True. Better yet, the Rockets should hire Zion for the Summer to teach Reed and Jabari how to gain more beef in their reed (no pun intended) thin bodies.

I mean ant man would have gone to the finals last year if it wasn’t for Luka and the mavs. He’s probably not beating the Celtics but still

That movement three after getting open off a simple screen is exactly what we need more of on this team. Too many guys who can only seem to hit it when standing still, in rhythm, wide open. Even just one effective movement shooter on the floor at all times would do wonders for us
