For once, he wasn't the ball hog out there towards the end of the game or he probably would have!

I don't know about going for 40 and the team losing by almost 30 or 40.

So you would rather starters be injured in a meaningless game?

"Oh yeah Amen sprained his ankle but at least we didnt lose by 40" lol

I mean just treat this as preseason game bro. It doesnt matter.

I dont care what the naysayers think. The Rockets need to find a way to use Cam. Hes too talented offensively and hes literally only 20 years old.

I love me some Cam Whitmore action.

in the three starts against OKC, CLippes and Lakers he has taken 50 shots and made 29 of them. Shot 22 threes and made 12 of them. Scored 74 points, grabbed 24 rebounds only 5 turnovers in about 108 minutes of play. Granted his team has lost every game, but what do you expect when most of the starters are sitting out.

The talent is there, can he harness it as a Rockets player in the future, I sure hope so.

He's being groomed to play, but to win in the NBA, you have to think of the team first, and if you play for Udoka, and want to win a Championship, you play defense second.

Cam did neither of those starting out.

He has tremendous offensive talent but it does the team no good if he leaves his teammates out of the play then compounds problems by breaking the teams defense with mental lapses and/or lack of effort.

He, like Sheppard, is very fortunate to be on a Top 4 team in the league watching how winning is done by a group of his peers and a Coach that refuses to let you play when you blow the assignment.

Cam may not like the role he's been dealt but he's been getting the treatment and training he needs to maximize his performance in the NBA and gain the skills he needs to have some longevity in his career.

i'm totally ok letting van fleet walk after this season and giving his minutes to reed and cam.... neither are true point guards, at least yet, but i don't think we need one. cam can run. i'm not just giving these guys away.

Doesn't matter he is 20, he will always look like 35.....old Soul.

Put him next to Reed Sweet 16.

i'll be extremely disappointed if we don't use him in the playoffs. he's exactly what you need in tight series as an x-factor off the bench to get you a crucial 10-15pts.

He’s probably the best scorer on a team that badly needs a go to scorer. I would be totally fine if they traded Jalen and kept cam.

I bet most teams would rather have cam than Jalen.

When he gets consistent minutes he settles down and plays team ball.....every time.

This is EXACTLY what the team should have found out this year, maybe it is true, maybe not, but without playing him every night it was a wasted year and now you don't know whom to trade, or you would rather trade, if either of them, or Brooks even, and keep both Jalen and Cam.

    JJ spitting truth.

As I said we should have been playing them as backups all year.

Such a shame we didn’t use him more. Hopefully next year we make him part of team and we don’t botch drafting him

We can’t trade him. He’s one of my top scorers in 2k

It’s a compliment but to the fans using this as some kind of “see I told you” or “such a shame they didn’t play more”: Reed has only found his groove now and let’s not ignore Cam’s all about himself attitude. That’s not taking context into account. We’ve done just fine with their roles and minutes. Both got plenty opportunities to prove themselves.

    Cam was great last night.

But I said it in the game thread. These 2nd and 3rd unit guys could score. They just couldn't play defense. If you hope Udoka will give Cam and Reed meaningful minutes in the playoffs without rotation guys injuries/foul trouble because of how well they could score these few games, you'll be disappointed.

Yeah,, in the 5 minutes they played and were then yanked to sit on the bench - that was entirely the point, the players didn't magically get better, they just got more minutes and were able to show more of their talent, and this is 100% a TOLD YOU SO....moment for some of us.

    TOLD YOU SO !

We all know Cam can put up numbers on a bad team, which we were without the starters. Does it surprise anyone? The told-you-so folks or cam-better-than-Jalen idiots are very DD-esque.
