Are you stating Florida has a huge housing crisis or that Florida is a terrible place to live?

Florida does have a unique housing issue, however many states have their own unique housing issues. Floridas housing issues are solvable.

Unlike many other regions, old Florida homes are huge liabilities. Regulations over the last 20 years have really helped. Unfortunately what is killing the market are the structures being built in flood zones.

As far as quality of life, like anywhere else, its all about where you live. 6 months of the year is great, the other 6 months sucks. This is no different than most other states.

BTW, I pay $1000 a year for my insurance and $2600 in taxes. My car insurance is $150 a month.

Meanwhile the only home insurance carrier in the state of Florida is now the government - aptly named citizens.
