Uhhhhh sales tax is a liberal thing? It was started in 1930 under a republican president? Gas tax isn't a liberal thing either nor is real estate tax. WTF is a sin tax?

I sincerely don't know if you just play stupid here or if you sincerely are a dumbass? I can't tell

A sin tax here in NY is a tax on your smokes and weed.
Tax on weed here is 20% unless you have a medical card then it disappears.
I have a friend that smokes.
15.75 a pack here in Albany.
He said its closer to 20 bucks a pack in NYC.
We bring him cartons back when we visit Texas.

    I'm not saying it's liberal.
I'm saying they have the normal tax and the sin tax on top of it.
I suspect that why cigs are 7 bucks in Texas and 15 here.
This is not a political statement. Just explaining what the sin tax is up here.

Just to add a little perspective I cut and pasted this from the interweb.

I did not know that gas was under the sin tax. Always just thought it was a flat state tax.

In New York, sin taxes are primarily applied to the purchase of alcohol, tobacco products, and gambling activities135. Some specific examples include:

Trump doesn’t give a **** about what China does in their sphere of influence. He will gladly trade taking a step back in Taiwan (letting it fall) if he gets China to leave the Panama Canal and Greenland.

Trump looks at all of this like a 15th century monarch- he has zero moral qualms about Taiwan falling.

What do you expect from an ahole grifter who’s continually trying to convince us in here, that his beloved Joe Biden is not a walking broccoli but the greatest thing since slice bread? In addition to being wrong on every single garbage post that he spewed out, he lies constantly about everything.
    What a dipshit moron!

Wait, are you saying all those taxes were done to finance tax cuts for the top 1%? I mean I'm sure even if those taxes were put by others, democrats have probably increased them at some point. But, I really don't recall anytime Democrat's policy was to create or raise them to finance cuts for the top 1%

Trump warns China not to escalate and instead ask for a call => China refuses and jacks up their tariffs => Trump admin begs XI for a call => China tells Trump no call until tariff nonsense is dropped

@El_Conquistador @Salvy low iq MAGA cultists "China is so afraid of Trump! He's bringing back respect to the USA"

I said nothing about tax cuts. All I alluded to was there has never been a tax cut a Democrat didn't like unless it was not their idea. Thus why you can go back 10-25 years ago and find many democrats promoting tariffs.
I was also referring to modern democrats, not what politicians did 100 years ago...or the fact that Democrats fought hard to keep slavery that resulted in hundreds of thousands of deaths.

    During the McKinley presidency (1897 - 1901),
    • the gold standard was still relevant, and
    • there was no Federal Reserve system.
Miran also intentionally ignored the tariffs in the Hoover (1930s) / Trump 1.0 (2016-20) tenures, which are more recent egs,
with the Federal Reserve system being an integral part of the economic landscape

You listed those taxes in response to - nothing about it wasn't the democrat's idea:

"Democrats have never proposed taxes on the middle/low class to finance tax cuts for the top 1% you low iq hack"

I mean every politician seems to only like ideas that come from their party, even if it is counter to what the party said 4 or 6 years ago. Heck, if Trump is ok with tax increase on the rich (as some reports say), then all of a sudden Republicans will be tax the rich lol. Plus, I do think Kamala was on board with Trump's idea of not taxing tips (a terrible idea IMHO).
