Since Amen is so good, what would you trade to get Ausar?

I would trade Jalen to get him.

 

Obviously Detroit has no reason to trade him but something reasonable would be Tari and 2 premium draft assets. Tari, 25 suns, 29 suns or mavs.

 

As good as Ausar might be, there's a giant gap between the two. The Pistons would want too much. We can fill that need easily/ much cheaper with another.

I’m hoping amen shows out, we max him, then ausar doesn’t get what he thinks he is worth and then comes here in free agency for cheap. Like a better version of the morris twins when they played together.

any trade for ausar would help our defense and cripple our offense. He is not someone who can be had for cheap. I’m sure he is loved there as they just tripled their wins and he was a big part of that. I’ve even seen people say ausar is a better defender than amen, I do t believe it, but I don't watch enough pistons games to know for sure.

 

Fairly high odds, in my view, that Amen ends up on a supermax contract. I don't think that will be the case for Ausar. No way Amen's leaving that payday behind.

 

Waiting for Ausar demand his trade. That’s the way to get players for cheap.

 

There was no bigger cheer leader for Amen before the draft - but I am not trading multiple #1 picks for Ausar.

Ausar is still a very good athlete, but he isn't quite as good as Amen - and I don't know that I want two players that cannot shoot from the perimeter.

Give me Amen and keep the assets or trade them for a franchise type offensive player.

 

I’m just worried if we keep him from playing point guard too much he’ll want to go somewhere where he’s the main ball handler, can play with his brother, and get paid almost max money

He just has that leader personality where I can see him getting frustrated not being the PG or main ball handler as he continues to get better

 

Amen and Ausar kind of play the same position. They would fight each other for minutes.

I guess in theory that Ime could play them at the same time as 2/3 "wings", but Ime would not want both on the 3 point line at once.

The most that I would like to see the Rockets give up for Ausar would be Reed Sheppard, which likely would not get Detroit to bite. I suspect that Detroit values Ausar at whatever peak value Amen has.

 

The space is already terrible, I don't think Rockets really need Ausar. 1 + 1 < 2 in this case
