Edgecombe looks nice but seems very redundant on our roster with Tari, Amen, and Brooks. I don't think he'd be setup for a ton of success.

Getting a playmaker like Kasparas who can help run the offense as well as switch onto 2/3s defensively would be so seemless for us. Playing connective linueps where the rock would be slanging around like:

    Reed
    Kasparas
    Amen
    Jabari
    Sengun

If we lucked into a top 4 pick you just take bpa. I like kasparas but don't think he's a better prospect.

And a tough defensive player is always gonna find a role on this team with ime it would seem.

that's fair. i just don't view edgecomb as the better prospect. it's also worth noting that Kasparas is almost a full year younger than Edgecomb.

Is Kasparas a good defender? Seems athleticism and shooting is a concern for him.

Assuming Portland beats Utah tonight (they are +5.5), and assuming Phoenix loses to OKC, that drops the Suns into the sole 9th spot. The scary winnable game remaining on their schedule is against the Spurs, who I assumed would be all out tanking. However, looking at the standings, the Spurs are basically locked into the 8th spot. They may actually play to win, and if they do beat the Suns, that will likely lock the Suns into that sole 9th spot, pushing the rockets odds at a top 4 pick to 20%. And that’s just if Portland doesn’t win after Utah. The Suns finishing solely in the 9th spot represents a best case scenario for Houston ;)

God I keep thinking how hilarious it would be to finally get #1 after all these top 4 picks, in the season we already turned ourselves into contenders. Probably won't happen but fun to dream, and if PHX actually manages to finish #9 in the odds, there's a real chance.

Right Edgecombe is BPA at 3 over Ace and anyone else but man having a young rim running shot blocking 7’2 big man Sudanese would be perfect fit for what we need.

that euro PG looks like a solid pick after 7 but we have Reed, Jalen and Amen

But I’m really high on Maluach, he is not Thabeet. I also give him a pass for the UH game bc he is 18 and dealing with a lot of personal **** at the moment

From Rockets fans, we thank you Bradley Beal for your support of this season's draft pick to us.

EDIT: It's Centel, but it's close to the truth for this a-hole. :)

Wish I believed in Maluach. I want to believe in him. He could definitely end up proving me wrong. But I think Mark Williams was a better prospect coming out.

Maybe there is a trade in place involving this pick and PHX is tanking to make it better.

I love that Phoenix gave up their future for this a-hole. It’s bad enough he feels that way, it’s worse that he is dumb enough to say it publicly.

That understandable, Maluach is incredibly raw

Mark Williams was definitely more proven, just has major injury concerns holding him back

Defensively Maluach looks way more mobile than Williams. Also Maluach has a nice looking jumper that passes the eye test

edit - not saying the dude will be a floor spacer but he’ll hit his free throws like Williams does

Very good FT% for a big too, which is a promising sign (76.6%). And he's 7'2" instead of Williams' 7'0". One of those guys with a soccer background who has barely had any time to develop as a basketball player, but seems to have some good instincts for defense and rebounding.

I think he's a fairly safe bet to be a good backup center, and there is some real upside there. A lot of similarities with Alex Sarr, actually.

Interesting I feel like Sarr and Maluach are different prospects just bc Sarr likes to be a wing sometimes lol. Plus he shoots way too many 3s than he should be and isn’t a very good finisher around the basket yet.

I think that safe bet to be a back up is what is turning people off to him. When you are picking top 5 in a loaded draft you want more than a backup center
