Great post. I need to quit saying PG. The nomenclature is fast becoming archaic in this era of positionless basketball. Amen is already a good creator and will be an elite creator with more opportunity. I think that opportunity starts next year. FVV is not even a true PG, because of his lack of ability to create off the dribble. He is a combo guard that plays slow methodical basketball. He plays good defense for someone his size, but does get hunted quite a bit. He is a very good backup guard who is entering the twilight of his career. He has definitely regressed this year, despite his contributions to winning.

This team is built for speed and we are blessed with 3 guys that are,at the very least, on their way to being elite creators. It is a crime to relegate Amen to the dunker spot and have him stand around waiting for an opportunity to cut. Ime is slowly coming around to handing the reins over to Amen most of the time. FVV is playing more and more off the ball and next year should be used as a steadying influence off the bench and emergency starter if injuries occur. I don’t care if you call Amen a PG, a point forward, or just a guy. He is our version of Magic Johnson and will orchestrate us to multiple championships. This is a perimeter dominated league and we are blessed to have a future backcourt of Amen and Jalen.

I think playmaker is a better term but he's a point wing if you want to go that route.

he's like shawn marion, clyde drexler, and tayshaun prince combined.

if the trend continues, he will eventually stand on his own.

idk if his game will age well since he relies on athleticism pretty much for his entire game. buuuuut that's for future for him to worry about and i'm sure he knows.

His raw offensive numbers are still lacking but you could call him a defensive superstar.

Shaivonte has picked up his defensive game, in the regular season he is viewed as a 2 way guard now.

Dog in 'em. Switch defense is next level. Can only imagine in a few seasons what it'll be.

    AMEN THOMPSON IS AN X-MAN.

But the miracle of Amen is not just that he’s one of the most athletic humans who has ever played basketball; it’s that, in just his second season, he has near-complete access to each department of said athleticism. He is a marvel of the mind-body connection, a real-life member of the X-Men in our midst. Thompson can jump higher, run faster, identify windows of opportunity quicker and more intuitively than anyone else on the floor. And we have data to prove it.

It has almost never happened in nba history where a non center actually deserved to be a DPOY candidate but amen at some point could get there.

The funny thing about all these blocks by Amen is that the offensive player was surprised by the block. With Wemby's length, you knew he was there and would risk the block. With Amen, he just comes out of nowhere to swat the ball away. They're like, "What the...?"

This guy is the only untouchable on this team. He’s an absolute stud and he’s about to be become a legit star.

Something I was thinking about--what would it take for Amen to get to the level of John Wall's peak as an offensive player? He is obviously already a vastly superior defender and rebounder. Mostly just improved handles and a little bit better jump shooting, right?
