Right. And obviously, when it does, we'd have a ton of $ to lure a top free agent. I'm just wondering who we could afford to keep around during those 2 years. That young core is going to want to get paid.

22 PPG off the bench would be unreal tho.

I say get KD, Harden and CP3 by buyout. FVV, Cam, Eason and picks galore.

I changed my vote to No

I agree with Mannix that the Booker ask-out is going to come this offseason or next, no reason to cash the PHX picks now for KD

Rockets should absolutely stay away from trading for Kevin Durant. At age 35 , his injury history—Achilles tears, MCL sprains, calf issues, and glass ankles—makes him a massive risk. Durant’s body is breaking down, and the Suns are a perfect example of what can happen when you bet on an aging, injury-prone superstar. Despite having Durant, the Suns have been struggling this season, proving that his presence isn't the magic fix some people think it is.

And it’s not just about his health. Durant isn't the veteran leader the Rockets need. Instead of mentoring young players, he's often too busy arguing with random fans on social media. If the Rockets are looking for a leader who can help develop their young core, they should seriously question whether Durant is more interested in developing teammates or crafting his next Twitter clapback. He'll probably get another burner and flame people on here if the Rockets aren’t immediately competing for championships with him

Plus, he’s almost certainly going to demand a max contract extension, which could keep him on the books until he’s 39. Paying $50+ million a year for a player who’s injury-prone and could cause locker room drama is a huge gamble. If the Rockets were to take that risk, they’d need to prepare for non-stop medical attention and drama.

The Rockets have been thriving without Durant this season, while the Suns have struggled despite him. The risk of bringing him in just isn’t worth it. Let some other foolish team give up assets for a player on the decline. The Rockets should stay the course and let someone else take that gamble.

Ya I’ve come around, I think this is a perfectly acceptable trade, we are undoubtedly the 2nd best team in the West and a title contender with the below roster

    Amen
    Jalen
    Brooks
    KD
    Sengun

    Tari
    Jabari
    Reed
    Adams

People and the media in general underestimate how important defense is. FVV/Dillon are two vets that are locked in defensively on this team. Durant will not be. He wants to show up, get up 22 shots, and then Netflix n Chill. On paper he's a fantastic fit. His issue is that he's too old and will not be on board with what Ime will want out of him on that end. Same thing with Harden before we signed FVV.

This year's draft is kinda deep, and I think we should hold on to this year's Suns pick...due to KD's age and how Jalen vastly improved the 2nd half of the season, I would propose this trade:
    FVV,

FVV, Tari, Cam, Suns 27 & 29 pick for KD
They can get a 1st round talent in Tari...with our wing depth and Bari embracing the 6th man role, Tari can be packaged to get KD.
We can use this upcoming Suns pick to get best available player (preferably Walter Clayton Jr if he falls to us).

The suns 27 and 29 picks are 2 of the most valuable assets in the league. Throwing them away for kd would be criminal, maybe as bad as the Westbrook trade with even more downside since those were protected top 4.

For those who haven’t watched a lot of the Suns this year, current KD’s best comp is 2013/14 age 35 Dirk Nowitzki.

Both legends who still made the All star team, with unstoppable high release jumpers when they get to their pet elbow post up. High scoring rate with very strong efficiency. Dirk even got a few MVP votes that year.

But they’re old guys out there. They don’t contribute in the rest of the game, they can’t/won’t run much, and the offense has to be a certain way to work for them. They add less to team success than the numbers suggest. They’re slowly fossilizing in front of you.

Dirk had one more solid year then he was totally cooked.

The only PHX pick/swap that I would move in a deal for Durant, is this year's.

Now, if it's Durant AND Booker...Adios to all of them.
