The interesting thing is that neither Posey, nor Mauer did it after age 28. The physical toll, and reduction in production based on wear playing catcher is very real, these aren't speed influenced categories ( except BA slightly)
But Diaz doesn’t hit lefties and he doesn’t make enough mound visits. Really smart guys understand that Maldy is better.
Rough year so far for Diaz. Some bad luck is making it worse, but still horrible even with neutral luck. Glad the Astros have Caratini, who they can lean on more until they get Diaz straightened out.
