Lots of misdirection but ended the way I sort of assumed it would, more of a body count than expected though....
enjoyed the ratlif story. didn't care about thicc belinda and her son, who admittedly has great skin. the 3 bebes needed moar noods and secks. lisa's character was useless. i would watch a 4-episode side story on the downfall of the ratlifs when they arrive back to murica. ratlif bros become geh pronstars, mama ratlif moves to taiwan, cute ratlif teaches fake buddhism classes, and papa ratlif on the run from mr lawman
Decent season, but felt the setting was more of a character and made it more tolerable that it would have in another setting, though acting was superb by a few. Definitely more deaths than I expected, though none in the messed up family and everyone ending up leaving was kind of poop. The masseuse storyline was mishandled honestly. It was not believable that suddenly she would go back on her morals and I actually would’ve preferred if that ended on a cliffhanger where the guy has intentions to kill her out of fear for talking, since she revealed she knows and he wouldn’t agree to a deal. The son disappearing would’ve been interesting for example.
Yeah I’ve seen an explanation, kind of symbolizing this high class theme also with the daughter of the family and how she cannot give that up, which I guess I can accept and makes sense. Felt really out of character though and they should’ve found a way to sell it better imo.
Lot of loose ends. The fancies literally witnessed a murder and are jolly on the boat the next day. 5 is the body count; no one seems to be fazed. Definitely the worst season of the 3
To me that ending, all not caring or not affected by the deaths, was their humorous way of dealing with it as opposed to the funny deaths in prior seasons. Kind of to make up for it. I feel this season had the most filler and it makes sense since it’s the longest as well.
IIRC, there was a line in Season 1 where Tonya tells a disbelieving Belinda she wouldn't want the money for the spa business anyway because it changes you, and it ended up changing her.
